Felix and Quinella quietly watched Krystal as she put the sticks filled with noodles in her mouth. They were eager to see her reaction and after munching for a few seconds, she smacked her lips and said,
"Delicious." Her expression put them at ease and they watched as she continued eating, unconcerned that they were watching her.
Once they had their fill of watching her, they also began eating their own.
Krystal was still slurping, carefully, on her noodles when she suddenly caught sight of Justin. He was heading towards this particular noodle stall.
"Ah, Justin." She subconsciously called out and he looked at her. He recognized her as one of the newly employed staff in the pastries shop but that was all.
He scoffed and looked aside, not sparing her a second glance.
"That... How dare you ignore me?"
"Why shouldn't I? I don't know you. Don't call my name like we're friends. I don't know you." He repeated without even looking her way.
"Oh, but you will eventually be my friend." She confidently stated.
"I don't see that happening." He said rudely. Felix wanted to stand but she held him back and smirked. The smirk held a lot of meaning.
"That's good! Very good, in fact. But, the thing is, I don't believe that there's anyone in this world that I can't draw over to be my friend."
"Look, Miss glasses..."
"That's not my name." Krystal cut in.
"I don't know your name."
"My name is Krystal." She introduced but he didn't look interested.
"I don't care!" He exclaimed.
Slowly, he was pushing the red button on Felix. Although he had agreed to treat her as his own sister, he knew she was to be respected and didn't want to sit down while this guy talked rudely to her. He was about to take action when he heard Krystal snicker. He looked at her, she had that face on. The one she had the moment she entered the dark room. A vicious viscountess.
Krystal sat up and folded her arms. She had her gaze fixed on Justin. She emitted a very domineering aura. One that only those in power could possess. One who had ruled and made decisions over the lives of many.
"I want to believe that behind that handsome face of yours, there's a gladiator because I won't go down without a fight." She stated.
"So you want to fight me?" He asked in disbelief.
"Not quite but...you'll see." She looked like a fox when saying that.
Thanks to the slightly dark lence of her glasses, her eyes looked brown but they were truly golden. If anyone could look down into that golden gaze of hers, they'd see fire and ambition. But that didn't last when she looked down at her bowl. "Oh man! My noodles have gone cold!" She exclaimed with child-like plainness erasing all traces of seriousness. "Now, I'm serious, you'll be my friend." She rattled fearlessly.
"Tch, whatever. You're really weird!" He exclaimed and proceeded to buy his noodles. 'This girl isn't simple.' He thought and glanced back at her sulking on her cold noodles. 'For a moment there, I felt she was someone of high status. Could it just be that I'm too exhausted and misreading things?' He looked away and seeing that she was plain and ordinary, he concluded that it was his imagination.
"Why did you let him treat you that way, your… Krystal? He's a jerk! Is it worth being his friend? He doesn't deserve that privilege." Felix said.
"I know he is and that's why I'm gonna befriend him. He's got stunning looks but a rude personality. Kind of reminds me of you." She said and drank water.
"He's nothing like me!" Felix spat out hatefully.
"Yeah, yeah. I know." She waved it off and winked. "Just messing with ya and you fell, haha!"
"It's not funny, Krystal!" He pointed out but she shook her head relentless.
"Come on, laugh with me." She said and Quinella giggled knowing Felix had been bested by Krystal. Felix kept a stern face and got up.
"Let's get going. It's late and we shouldn't be out at such late hours." Felix said.
"Okay!" Krystal said and got up. She noticed Justin was still there and was sure he heard their entire conversation. A grin played on her lips and she yelled, "Goodnight, Justin!" She snickered and turned to leave the totally annoyed Justin.
'Miss glasses, do you believe I can wipe you out of existence?' He thought with a calm expression on his face.
He looked up at the stars. Today was really not his day. He made a mess with a few deliveries and had to compensate them with his own money so as not to trouble the shop and then, he had to meet such a crazy lady. All he wanted was one peaceful night. Was that too much to ask?
His phone rang and he picked it up and looked at the caller ID. He sighed on realizing who the caller was and answered reluctantly.
"When will you be back? Your father's illness is getting worse." A lady's voice came from the other end of the line and Justin sighed once more.
"What, are you going to use that as an excuse to put a leash around my neck?" He clenched his fists. "Don't use that as an excuse to pick a fight and just tell me what you want to say."
Justin has it coming for him. Astin, please go easy on him, okay?
