Lady Vanora's question was instantly followed by deafening silence. Crown Prince Owine did not say anything but the expression on his face was surprisingly calm yet nonchalant at the same time. However, in fact, he was going through turmoil behind that mask.

He never really welcomed talks regarding his illness because he had long lost all hope. It was also his way of protecting himself because having false hope was like rubbing salt into his already wounded heart. He couldn't endure any more of those.

"Is that why you wish to see me?" He finally asked Lady Vanora Asral, sounding a bit cold. Still, his demeanor was calm and collected. "You should leave."

"Your Highness -"

"I warn you, My Lady," the Crown Prince whispered. "Don't test my patience. It should be the last thing you want."
