Bab 71: CHAPTER 69: REMORSE
The next few days could be considered hell for the rest of the bound elves at this point, as their days were filled with nothing but pain and suffering.
They would be used as training dummies for the Gideon and Victoria, receiving horrible levels of pain each time they tested their mental attack in them, often leading to loosing consciousness as well as bleeding from their orfices.
Not only that, they were also severely dehydrated and starved and would only be given the bare minimum just to stay alive and conscious before being subjected to the horrible pain.
At some point, they no longer cared about the repercussions of refusing to open their eyes and tried forcing them shut. But it was pointless because Gideon would just paralyze them and open their eyes, doing the same for Victoria's victims.
And so it reached a point where the men simply gave up.
"... me" Gideon heard from his next 'test subject' and furrowed his brows.
"What did you say?" He asked without much care.
"Kill me." The guy's voice was barely audible, and his eyes were listless.
Gideon's eyes widened slightly when he heard the man's request, but then they immediately became cold.
"Hmm, Mrs Lin never brought more people despite the ones that died and asked us to be a bit more careful with the rest of you, meaning people like you are that many, also meaning that her kingdom is relatively peaceful. That means that you guys are either retarded or just insane." At this point, Gideon's words became chillingly frosty.
"You guys are pieces of trash that decided to ruin innocent people's lives simply because you felt like it. How many of you victims were in a similar state as you are now, begging for mercy, hm? How many of them screamed and pleaded for you to stop destroying their lives? The families of these people who were expecting them to come back after doing something they usually do, only to find out that that person had died a pitiful death at the hands of someone who doesn't value life. They were simply minding their own business, they had absolutely nothing to do with you, and yet you raped or killed them without a second thought, toying with them in the process until they begged for death. They must have gone through a lot of pain in the process, but you probably ignored their pleas. And yet here you are begging to be killed just like them.
"Is what I'm doing painful? Yes. But you deserve every last bit of pain coming to you and more, fucking hypocrite." Throughout his speech, Gideon's voice was low, not once did he shout. But he said them with such coldness that the man began to shiver. But then he thought about it.
'I wouldn't be in this situation had I just obeyed the rules and regulations. If I had just lived honestly, my life could've had a happy ending, and yet because of my stupid decisions, here I am. He's right, all those people that I ruined, who begged me to stop were probably feeling horrible, but I continued. I can't believe it took me so long to realize how stupid I was.' The guy smiled bitterly, but he didn't cry or wail, the weight of his actions finally catching.
He suddenly felt disgusted with himself, his own skin feeling uncomfortable. He then looked at Gideon who was still looking at him coldly.
"Kill me, please." He said again, causing a vein to pop on Gideon's forehead.
"Still on with that." Gideon said threat, but then the man shook his head.
"I don't know why, but your words have really made me think. You can call me any horrible word you can think of but it still won't be enough. I want you to kill me, not because of I want the pain to end. But I feel like my death, even though it won't be near enough, would at least serve as a small bit of atonement. My death is the only thing that will be as good as a small apology. That's why I want you to kill me." He said.
Gideon searched his eyes for any sort of lie, but all there was was remorse. Seeing this, Gideon closed his eyes and thought for a moment before opening, and all there was was indifference.
"If there is an afterlife, I hope you become a better person." As he said that, Gideon summoned Hades. And with a quick movement, he beheaded the elf.
When his body collapsed, his his expression was a mixture of relief, gratitude, and remorse. And then his eyes lost their light.
'At the very least, he was remorseful.' Gideon thought and reflected on himself.
'There were many times that I vowed to get my revenge when I got stronger when I got older, yet here I am playing hero. It's probably because of Victoria, or maybe I'm just a good person at heart, but I don't know. But guess I turned out okay. I'm glad I didn't end up like that.' He thought, he was happy about that.

The days passed by and the siblings got better and better in performing the mental attack. They were now able to perform it near immediately.
Gideon let the matter of the elf he killed go to the back of his mind and didn't let it affect his training, and Lin who definitely knew what had happened didn't raise the matter.
"Alright, you two have now finished the rudimentary level of the mental attack." Lin called them and said.
The two of them didn't ask why Lin said it was rudimentary as they both knew that this would be leading to a technique far more advanced than what they had achieved currently.
"This one is simply to cause pain, but more advanced levels allow you to distract, create illusions, and even do mind control, though that is way ahead of you guys now." Lin said and the siblings nodded.
'But wait, can't I just create a hallucinogen?' Gideon thought, but then he realized that he still needed to properly know how it would work and how it affected to body, so he brushed it aside.
"Also, I told the others about you 'rest month' and they all agreed, so you'll all spend five days with each of us similar to you training, but we'll be letting you guys relax and enjoy what our world and respective kingdoms have to offer." As she said this, the siblings couldn't help but feel excited. After all, it was a new world with a plethora of things to see and do. Who wouldn't get excited.
