The training with Sia ended uneventfully, that is, for the siblings anyway. Sia was busy questioning life.
Either, the fifth day came and went and not long after, Teran arrived to pick up the duo.
"I feel like you've received the least amount of shock with these two." Sia said ina voice only she and Teran could hear.
"Probably, but their ability to adapt is still scary. Even if they don't increase their stamina in the short term, they still easily figure out how to save energy without reducing their overall combat prowess." Teran commented while shaking his rock head.
"If only we were like that when we were younger." Sia said with a bitter smile while recalling the past.
"Yeah, but what has happened has happened, no use in dwelling on it now. Anyway, let's get going." Teran said and called the siblings over.
"See you later." Teran waved his non-existent hand before the ground opened up and the three of them fell inside before it closed up once again.
"If only though." Sia muttered while shaking her head.
...
Teran along with the siblings arrived at the huge canyon once again and after some seconds, Teran spoke.
"To be honest, my training with you two simply has to do with stamina and quantity. So I'll increase the difficulty but the premise I'd the same." As he said that, Gideon couldn't help but say.
"Quick question. Would all of this matter if we get strong enough? I mean, I have no issues with the stamina part, but aren't there another ways to train our stamina? Quality always beats quantity after all." Gideon asked and to his surprise, Teran chuckled.
"Remember this, quantity is a quality on its own. It doesn't matter how strong you are, as long as the quantity is sufficient, you will fall." Teran said with an irrefutable tone stunning Gideon and Victoria.
"But that's not important, anyway, let's get started." Teran said as he jumped and landed on a ledge if one of the cliff faces.
Soon after, just like before, countless rock golems began to emerge from the ground and I a few seconds, the duo was surrounded by a sea of rock golems, and these ones were stronger than the previous ones.
'Seriously, just how much astral energy does this guy have?!' Gideon thought as there was an endless sea of stone golems anywhere he looked.
"Go." Upon giving the command, the stone golems charged towards the siblings with one goal, take them down.
This time, Teran had no intention of stopping after a certain amount of time had passed, no. He would simply push them to their absolute limits untill they dropped.
'How long will these little pebbles last?' Teran sat down and let his legs hang of the ledge as he watched purple and green flashes appear in different parts of the massive army.
The duo were doing their best to eliminate as many golems as possible while expending little energy.
They applied what they had learnt recently other than Draven's acting and made use of their improved reflexes and instincts from the gravity chamber while also making use of the runes that they learnt.
They first few hours passed by without much issue as they were not restricted so they didn't need to worry about their stamina too much.
Victoria expertly made use of her break and penetrate runes that made it so that with each punch, multiple golems in a straight line would get turned to rubble.
Meanwhile, Gideon placed numerous bind, weight and paralyze runes on the ground which would slow down the golems or completely immobilize them making them easy prey.
And fortunately, runes could actually last a while depending on the amount of energy that was imbued into them. And with their astral cores we working to replenish all the lost energy, the only issue was their stamina.
Hours passed by and very soon, the sun began to set. But it hardly made a difference as the duo's movements had only slowed down slightly.
Eventually, it was midnight and at this point, they had started panting, but it wasn't anything serious.
Then, the sun began to rise once again and their foreheads were covered in sweat, but could still move with relative ease.
Afternoon came and they could feel their bodies aching a bit, but it could be ignored.
Evening came again and headaches were becoming prominent due to the constant dodging and attacking.
Midnight passed once more and their movements began to become sluggish while their bodies were drenched in sweat.
The sun rose once more signalling the third day and they could feel their bodies, especially their arms becoming numb and heavy.
Noon arrived once more and the duo wanted nothing more than to sleep. Even if Lin had trained their endurance, the fact remained that they could still get tired.
It was evening once again, and Victoria was feeling much worse since her rank was lower.
At this point, they couldn't even attack anymore as their hands hung limply by their sides. They felt so heavy that it was as if they had become steel.
Midnight came and Victoria couldn't handle it anymore as she directly collapsed from exhaustion, her chest heaving up and down as she gulped in air like there was no tomorrow.
Gideon didn't fair much better as he had to bite his tongue to keep himself awake. His eyes constantly drooping and the thought of closing them became very tempting.
Roughly two more hours passed by and Gideon's body literally had to shut itself down as he had gone way, way past his limits.
'But limits exist to be broken, don't they?' Was his last thought before everything turned black.
Some seconds after he lost consciousness, Teran walked towards the siblings with complex emotions.
"Four days. One silver rank and one gold rank. Forgot Gideon, most people at Victoria's level can't even last more than one day." Teran exclaimed as the ground beneath them suddenly rose resembling two altars with the two of them laying down.
Teran's control over the earth element was truly incredibly as he turned the two hard stone altars into two comfortable beds. In fact, it could even put most beds to shame.
"Well, if these two were chosen to save two whole worlds then it's no wonder. I just hope they don't surprise me like this with each training session, else my successors would probably curse their entire generation during training." Teran mused.
"Meh whatever. I guess I'll get some rest too." He muttered before his whole body crumbed and turned into small pebbles.
And just like that, the training session had come to an end.
