This seemed almost unfathomable for the masses as since they were born, they had always known Varian Lycaon as the commander. It was a constant thing, kinda like how everyone knew that there were seven continents on the earth. 

They had become so used to him that when his death had been announced after his deeds had been revealed, most people couldn't believe it. But when his corpse was shown, they felt like they were dreaming.
