Roger gave up on running away from Evelyn and asked. "What do you want."
She raised her hand to the waitress, gesturing for a server to take their orders. "A glass of wine, please. And bring some bread."
The waitress seemed a little confused and asked for an ID because Evelyn looked like she was in her early teens.
She took out her wallet and showed her ID. "See? I am 35."
Roger and the waitress widened their eyes, and the waitress nodded and hurried off.
"Is that a fake ID?"
"No, what the hell," She leaned forward and rested her arms on the table. "It is impossible to fake your ID, silly!" she giggled.
"So you are 35?" Roger raised his eyebrow in disbelief.
"Jeez! Why is it so hard to believe that?" Evelyn rolled her eyes but smiled at him nevertheless. "One of my powers stopped me from aging when I was eighteen!"
This shocked Roger even more. 'EIGHTEEN? THAT'S HER AT 18 YEARS OLD?!' His brain seemed to short circuit a little as he stared at her.
When he finally recovered, he shook his head and said. "Whatever." He took a sip of beer as she started talking again.
"So how come you didn't come to visit me?" she asked, staring intently at him.
"You can read minds, dumbass." Roger rolled his eyes before taking another drink. "Why the hell would I want you to read mine secrets?!"
Evelyn pouted before shaking her head. "Yeah, sure." She reached across the table and gently touched his lip with the tips of her fingers, trying to act sexy. However, Loki just chuckled.
"Are you sure you're 35?!" he asked again.
"Yes, I'm fucking 35!" Evelyn shouted.
"Then stop acting like a kid." The server returned with their drinks and put their order down.
After they were alone again, Evelyn said. "But seriously, Roger, why are you skipping school so much?" She grabbed his wrist and squeezed. "If you have a problem, tell me."
He pulled his arm back. "Because I don't like the school; it is as simple as that." He picked up his burger and took a bite.
Evelyn sighed sadly. "I would understand if you were powerless and bullied, but now..." She paused for a moment and then said. "but now you are the second strongest student in the high school!"
"Wait, what?"
Roger stared at her incredulously. "Second most powerful student? Who is the first?"
"It is a secret!" Evelyn laughed, leaning towards the table, whispering conspiratorially. "Who knows what will happen if you were to find out!~"
"Huh? What does that mean?"
Evelyn grinned wickedly and said. "Come to think of it. Maybe I shouldn't tell you." Her face got serious, though.
"I see..." Loki said while thinking, 'I have a feeling this immature woman is dying to tell me. He saw her eyes sparkle mischievously and couldn't help smiling.
She sighed dramatically. "Fine... I will tell you. But you owe me!"
He shrugged. "What makes you think I want to know?"
"Eh?! You know you want to!"
"How did you come to that conclusion?" Roger narrowed his eyes.
"Uhhh... because you want to be the strongest villain?!" she said to Roger, but it sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than Roger.
Loki raised his eyebrow. "I guess privacy is non-existent in this world, huh?"
Evelyn laughed softly. "Well, you can try hiding your thoughts with magic, but... This won't work against espers that are over B rank."
He smiled and looked down at his burger. He thought, "That's useful information."
"It is useful information!" Evelyn chirped before taking a sip of her wine. "Ah! I love red wine!"
Loki rolled his eyes and finished the last of his burger. "Please at least pretend you are not in my head and don't answer my random thoughts."
She shrugged. "I can't help it! They pop into my head all by themselves. Besides, I want to be your best friend." She winked at him.
"Right... Friends?" Loki felt the corners of his lips tug upward involuntarily as he tried to hide his smile.
"Of course!" She smiled brightly and clinked her glass of wine with Loki's beer bottle. "To friends!"
"Kids these days," Lok thought while looking at Evelyn, who seemed to be having fun. However, when she heard that thought, she almost started to have a tantrum.
"Shut up! I am older than you!!"
Roger burst out laughing when he witnessed that and immediately covered his mouth. She turned around with an outraged look and glared daggers at him.
"Hey, hey, don't worry about it, kid," He said after taking a deep breath. "Just tell me what you want from me."
"Eh? Oh yeah!" Evelyn smiled. "I am curious if you could help me out?"
Loki stared at her with blank eyes and replied, "No."
"Eh?! But why?" She put her hands on her chest and batted her eyelashes. "You don't even know what I want to ask you!"
"Look," Loki sighed and sat up straighter. "I have no interest in helping people." He stood up and headed to the door. "Now get lost before I spank you."
"You wouldn't dare!" Evelyn shouted after him.
"Try me."
He got up and walked away while Evelyn yelled and called him names.
"And that's a thirty-five-year-old..." he muttered while walking away, but she suddenly appeared in front of him. However, the whole aura was different somehow. She seemed to be more mature now or more relaxed.
"You will help me out, Roger." she pleaded while placing her hands behind her back and looking at him with serious eyes.
"No."
"This time, I am not asking," she crossed her arms.
"Maybe I'll ask someone else..."
"Good idea," she seemingly gave up. "I should ask Julia, or... Darvin."
Loki frowned and opened his mouth to talk, but nothing came out. She is the principal, and Loki knew how Julia and Darvin worked hard to be at the top of the school because both wanted to work in the government in the future. Loki knew they would not refuse her no matter what. Evelyn knew that as well.
"Well, aren't you showing your true colors?" Loki frowned, but soon a slight smirk appeared on his face. "I like that."
Evelyn laughed; however, her eyes showed no emotions. "Thanks, Roger." She was a completely different person from before.
"So, what the hell do you want from me."
"Let me show you." She pulled out a small black box and handed it to him.
Loki took hold of the box before opening it. He lifted the cover, revealing what appeared to be a necklace made of silver. "What is this?"
"This is your ticket for the otherworld tournament."
