Bab 6: Za date
Walking back down to the front desk, he stops by the secretary grabbing her attention. "Hello again." he says before leaning onto the counter. "Did you miss me?" He asks, a slight tease in his tone.
"Oh…" She trails off, a blush on her face as she hands him a sticky note with a number on it. "H-here…"
"I'll call you later, 'kay?" He says with a smile before turning around with a wave and walking outside.
"Just like your dad." A scruffy voice says, looking up he sees a man flicking the bud of a cigarette on the ground.
"Yeah, yeah. Nice to see you too, Shiu." Fuji says sarcastically as he walks up to him, being a little taller than the man.
"So, how've you been, kid?" Shiu asks, pointing at a bench not too far away.
"Not bad, still jumping around. Also, I just got my place for the night." He says, waving a sticky note in the older man's face.
"Whatever, I'm just doing your dad a favor for the time we worked together." He says, offering a cigarette to Fuji who accepts it.
"Got a light?" Fuji asks while watching Shiu pull out a match box, grabbing a match he flicks it on the side then holds the matchstick up to Fuji's cigarette.
"Your birthday is in a few days, you know." Shiu says as he hands Fuji a card. "Happy birthday." He says taking a drag of his cigarette and turns as fuji looks down at the card he opens to reveal a stack of 14,000 yen and a small note with a picture turned upside down, unfolding the note he reads:
"Hey kid. How are you doing? If you're reading this, I'm probably dead or dying, you know I'm sorry for not being the best dad you know? I never really had a dad or family of my own to teach me how to be one. Oh, that's right, by the time you're reading this you should have already entered the world of jujutsu. You need to realize how dangerous this world truly is, so I'll give you this…back at the Zen'in clan, they have a warehouse hidden away underground, full of cursed spirits. Go there and you will come to fully realize the potential of your Heavenly Restriction. Don't want you to meet me in the afterlife too soon, y'know?
.PS. If you haven't yet looked for the cursed spirit I carried around. It will find you. It has a very important weapon in it. Due to that I cannot tell you what it is, just in case someone else gets this letter. But do know, it will get you out of most sticky situations."
He read the letter as his eyes began to water a bit, memories of him with his father flowing through his mind before he picks the photo up and flips it over; seeing a photo of him and his dad eating octopus dumplings, after a bit he took a breath to calm himself before wiping his eye with his thumb. Looking into his pocket he pulls out his wallet and slips the photo inside before getting up and beginning to walk away while shooting a text to the secretary. "Stupid old man." He mutters while typing the text.

Fuji:
Yo, you off work?
Secretary Lady:
Yeah, do you wanna
meet up someplace?
Fuji:
Sure.
Where do u wanna go?
Secretary Lady:
Dinner?
Fuji:
That sounds nice
Steakhouse?
Secretary Lady:
That sounds lovely
He puts his phone back in his pocket as he walks down the street, before arriving and walking into the steakhouse for his reservation.
"Right over here." A blue haired woman calls as she leads Fuji to his seat, he sees a woman with light red hair standing by the table.
"Hellooo, my name is Asuka Sohryu." She says as she sits down opposite of Fuji. Not too long later a waiter comes over and hands them a menu.
Fuji hums to himself as they look through the menu before breaking the ice with a question. "If you don't mind me asking. What do you do on your days off?" he asks curiously as he puts down the menu after finding what he wants.
"Not much. I mainly just hang around all around the place." She says, putting her menu down and calling the waiter over.
"Hello, my name is Miwa, and I'll be your waiter for the day. How may I help you?" She asks with a joyful smile.
'She looks familiar…' Fuji shrugs the thought off before saying his order. "I'll get a 6 oz Center-Cut Sirloin steak with a side of mashed potatoes." He says while handing the menu back to Miwa as she turns towards Asuka.
"What will it be for you today?" she asks as Asuka puts the menu down.
"I'll get a Grilled Chicken, plus Aussie Fries and a Roman coke." She says the waiter turns towards Fuji.
"Do you two want anything to drink?"
"Yeah. I'll have a 16 oz corona beer please." He says watching her walk away to the kitchen to give the chefs their order.
"What do you want to do after this?" Fuji asks as he leans closer to her, causing Asuka to turn a bit red.
"Well if you don't mind…I say we go home after this and have a little fun~" She says as she brings her hand up and drags it along his chest.
Fuji opens his mouth as the waiter comes back with their food. "Alright, I hope the food is good! And when you're done just call me back when you're ready for your check!" She says as she walks away as they start to eat their food.
"So, what do you like to do for fun?" Asuka asks Fuji who has his mouth stuffed full of mashed potatoes, after swallowing the food he takes a chug of beer before responding.

"WelI, I kinda just like to float around. Like a leaf in the water, go wherever the wind takes me, y'know?"
"Well, the wind just happened to have you end up with me." She says, taking a bite of her food. "Do you mind if I spill something onto you, Fuji?" She asks as Fuji swallows another bite of mashed potatoes before speaking.
"Sure, what is it?" He asks before eating some more.
"I've been having weird dreams…"
"Hm? What do you mean?" Fuji asks, his interest being piqued as she goes into explanation.
"So, it all started one day a few weeks ago. I was so tired that I fell asleep on the couch, right? When suddenly I was talking to a childhood friend." She says taking another bite of her food. "Then suddenly we were in this big robot fighting what seemed to be…aliens…?" Fuji sets down his drink. "Then suddenly I was in the hospital and Shinji was there…but also, y'know? He seemed distraught, but I don't know why. All I remembered is a feeling in my eye, like a constant buzzing feeling, like it was getting impaled and that's when I woke up." She says, being startled by Miwa, as she just appears out of nothingness.
"How is the food? Do you guys need anything?" She asks as she looks at Fuji's empty beer mug. "Do you want a refill sir?"
Fuji nods, "Yeah, and do you think we can get some mozzarella sticks while you're at it?"
"Yes, it's no problem sir." She says while filling his cup before walking back to get them more food.
"So, I went to the doctors after that, because my eye was hurting after I had that dream. Then it was a week later that I had another dream; this time I was back in the mech and we were fighting when suddenly I was being choked. I couldn't tell who until the next dream." She says as the mozzarella sticks arrive, to which Fuji immediately starts to eat one.
"Sounds trippy. What happens next?" He asks while in the process of munching on another mozzarella stick.
"Well, I woke up and it felt like I actually couldn't breath, then when I looked in the mirror later that morning, I actually had handprints around my neck." She says, taking a mozzarella stick and eating it. "MMMM! These are so good!" She says as she eats another. "…after that I started to be afraid to go to sleep, because something was happening. Every wednesday, the day the dreams happen, I try to stay up all night. But it's become really hard to where caffeine is slowly not working and those five-hour energy drinks don't do shit either." She says, starting to tear up a bit. "so…when I met you, I thought…well maybe…you could help me. You seem to be a strong person, and you could help me." She says as she starts to cry.
Fuji sits next to her and puts his hand around her shoulder, before pulling her closer to him. "Hey, there's no need to cry. I'll be there for you, and that won't ever change." He hugs her close to him. 'Well. It's not a complete lie. Half of that is a lie, since I'm leaving the city tomorrow…I'll keep in touch…maybe…if I feel like it.' He thought as she began to calm down.
"That's not even…the worst part." She says with a sniffle, "last wednesday…was the worst. I fell asleep and suddenly, it felt like I was being melted and burnt amd my mind started to merge with billions of others and we all became one, then I realized who was choking me…it was Shinji." She says with tears streaming down her face as Fuji tries to calm her down.
"Hey, hey. They're just dreams, none of it is real." He says in a soothing voice.
"I'm sorry." She whispers. "I didn't mean to bother you with this." She says as she calms down a bit. "So…uhm… if you don't mind… could you please stay with me tonight?"
