Bab 307: Twenty Thousand

Prince Qui was not expecting anything nice when he got to the military camp. He was not expecting anything at all. But when he arrived there, it was like there was a mini welcome party for him. Food was laid out on the table and a few pitchers of wine.

It only told him one thing: that things were not going well as he thought it was. They were buttering him up so they could drop some bad news later. Prince Qui was not buying any of it. "I'm not hungry," he told the two older generals who were assigned with him. There were others, but he did not know why they were out of sight at the moment. Probably still sleeping in.

Oh, how he wished that he would be the only one in charge here. Technically, he was the highest in power, and his decisions would triumph over them all. However, when you huddle too many leaders in one place, delay in decision-making tends to arise, which Prince Qui avoided because he could not afford to lose time.
