Bab 3: Start Of The Journey.
After learning that the system can provide my basic necessities like clothes ,food ,and water for me. I just up and left after saying goodbye to the cabin. I made sure to cultivate for 1 hour before leaving. I decided that taking it a bit slower would be good for me. I don't think all my novel protagonist knowledge agrees with this speed. My sword flight skill hit level 9 as well. After getting to this level and having a small level of capability ,I start moving. As I walk ,I ask the system about the nearest city.
[The nearest city is Cloud City. It is 43 miles southwest from your location. The system has provided a compass to aid you in your journey. At any time ,you can turn it into a tattoo on your palm.]

As I'm faster than a normal Qi Condensation Cultivator ,I was able to travel the distance in an hour of running. Reaching the town ,I slowed down and got in line to queue up. In the cultivation world ,there is no toll for entering the city. At least not in this one. So I enter the city with no trouble at all. After entering what I remember to be one of the three main starting cities ,I ask a question that's been on my mind. When will the players join the game?
[They should arrive in 5 years.]
So I don't have to worry too much about the players for now ,I just need to get stronger. With that in mind I started to wander around the town. If I want to get stronger ,I need to find a sect. They have skills and resources that'll help me along my journey. If my memory serves me well ,I think the only sect in this area is the Misty Cloud Sword Sect. Based right here in Cloud City. With that info ,I need to know when they start recruitment ,system?
[The Misty Cloud Sword Sect last recruited disciples 9 months ago and should be holding the next recruitment in 3 months ,next to the Grand Cloud Plaza.]
Alright so I still have 3 months before I need to do that. Other than that ,I need to find somewhere to stay during these 3 months. The system doesn't provide me money ,so I need to find a way to get money so I can obtain shelter. System ,do you have any ideas?

That works. Alright ,time to head to the mercenary guild.

After looking for about 15 minutes and asking around ,I found the mercenary guild. I went up to register as a mercenary at the desk. Seeing as how I have no way to hide my cultivation ,many people can see my cultivation. Anyone that is at least 1 major realm below you and higher can view your cultivation. Except for mortals ,who have no ability to sense cultivation realms. After being asked to place my hand on a piece of jade and then dripping my blood on a card ,I received my mercenary license.
