"Are you truly leaving already?" Kinara asked Ning 3 days after her coronation.
Ning had been staying in the palace for those three days, taking care of the little things he had to do before he would forever be gone from this world.
"I have no reason to remain here. I only came to kill that Godking of yours," he said and looked at her. "You truly don't care that I killed him, do you?"
She gave a small smile. "I don't know," she said. "I think I hated him, but I think in some ways, I liked him too. I'm not crestfallen at his demise, but… it feels like I've lost something too. It's hard to explain."
"You don't have to," Ning said. "Just don't let those feelings get to you and be a good Queen. Any idea on who you are going to make the King?"
Kinara gave a small grin. "I think I will establish my influence a little more before I choose a husband. Who knows, I might go the Godking's route and get many as well."
The Melability Chronicles was a book idea I got just a month after I started writing Energy. I tried writing 3 chapters, but it came out horrid. So, for the past 2.5 years, this world and magic has been in the back of my head, never fully forming. So, I decided to finally give it something using this mini-arc.
The story of that book takes place some few hundred years later, where the Continent of Karadhan is no more after a cataclysm, and in its stead are drifting islands, filled with Melabeasts.
This chest is one of the only thing that survives, and that becomes the MC's 'Golden finger'. I do not know if I will ever write that story now, so getting the idea off my head and into the pages feels good.
Thanks for reading!
