Bab 24: Struggle

I found her in the living room playing with the television remote. She was mumbling under her breath until she clicked a button and the sound of French was replaced with clear English.

“Yes!”

“What are you so excited about?” I moved to sit down on one of the sofas. It was rather comfortable.

Gretal sat the remote down with a smug smile and settled on the other couch. “I had hoped he had American channels. He told me he did, but I could only find French. Now we have everything on here like they do back home. Leigh, my plans for today are just to relax and work here. You’ll find a few lessons you can get started on tonight. I’ll make us lunch in a bit and we’ll have dinner here. I checked the kitchen to see that we are stocked for a much longer stay than we have here.”

I nodded and sighed. “Yes, I do have quite a bit of work ahead of me.” I wondered how I was going to do that with the message from Nan weighing on me.
