ASHLEY's POV

We took off down the hallway, our footsteps echoing in the empty corridors. My heart raced, a sickening dread settling in my stomach. The peaceful resolution with Jackson had been a brief respite, but now, another storm was brewing—and this one could be even deadlier.

As we rounded the corner, the sound of shouting and clashing metal reached our ears. Dante's pace quickened, his hand still gripping mine as we sprinted toward the dungeons. The air was thick with tension, the kind that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

We reached the entrance to the dungeons just as a group of guards were thrown back by a massive, snarling figure. Marcus. His eyes were wild, filled with rage and madness, as he tore through the guards like they were nothing more than paper.

"Marcus!" Dante roared, his voice echoing through the stone halls. "Stand down!"
