Bab 48: Chapter 48

Ashley's POV

I caught hold of a branch when I jumped. It happened that I didn't want to die after all; I had just started living and couldn't afford to end it all.

"Ashley!" I heard Dante's voice and I wasn't ready to answer, so I took off, jumping from tree to tree until I was back on the road.

I avoided leaving tracks, on the road, or anywhere, so he wouldn't find me. Even though I wanted him to.

I quickly went back to my motel, hiding from the lights and eyes of the few neighbors I had. I was surprised they didn't wake to the sound Dante and his crew were making earlier.

I successfully sneaked into my room and took a deep breath before retiring to my bed.

I was too weak to take a shower and had too many thoughts in my head that I couldn't sleep.

I had to ask myself what I wanted. Who I was meant to love or not.
