Well, It wasn't all that sudden and premature actually.

She had already been considering it for a long while now. Her previously long, waist length hair was lustrous and pleasant enough, especially adding a touch of radiance to get soft features. But that was it.

In the first place, Lyra wasn't always fond of unnecessary long hair, especially considering her like of work, and that was why she kept it short even before she met Huey and had a core implant.

Unnecessary long hair would only get in the way of a battle, training, and overall, her daily life.
