Bab 139: Sandless, heatless

Sparks flew.

In a long while, Al was flung back like a drunk guy getting kicked in the nuts. And it hurt just as bad too if not worse… Well, at least his crotch wasn't screaming in pain; he sure was though. 

Al rolled, immediately got up and got back into position. "Arch knight?" Breath erratic, vision a bit pale. He was not expecting one of humanity's greatest weapons here in this meager border town, no. 

"Retired," the knight said. Stale eyes. White hair, old but frail. Some lines of age, yet her face struck beautiful. Perhaps she was really beautiful back in her day but beauty was the least of Al's concerns.

"Look, I'm not looking for a fight. Just stand out of the way and-" 

"Due to contractual obligations, I cannot do that." She wasn't really wearing much armor. Just a light armor sprayed in metallic colors. A simple long sword, no helmet, no shin guards. Not even a shield. 

Sigh.
