Bab 9: Rebirth

High in mountains , Devi Sangya and Devi chaya were chanting Devi Parvati's name. She was doing her penance in a forest in Himalayas. One day she was chanting Devi Parvati's name and suddenly Sage Durbasha came there.

Sage Durbasha- "Devi, I am Sage Durbasha, please give me some alms."

But both were so immersed in their meditation that they did not hear his demand. Sage Durbasha was known for his anger. Feeling insulted , he cursed -"Devi Sangya, Devi chaya , Devi you insulted me, so I cursed you. The son whom you are yearning for will not bear from your womb."

Suddenly a bright light fell on that place and Devi Parvati came in front of them.

Devi Parvati – "Sage Durbasha, how dare you cursed my devotee."

Devi Parvati – " She is in deep meditation and don't you know that it is forbidden to disturb someone in their penance. It is you who did wrong by asking for alms here. I will not spare you."

Sage Durbasha – "Devi please forgive me. I know what I did was wrong. Though I cannot take my curse back, I can lessen the effect. The son may not take birth from Devi Sangya's or Devi chaya's womb, but he will be a great person and he will always love and respect both of more than anything else in the world. He will be known as both of their son. His love for his mother's and mother figure will become legendary."

After sage Durbasha left from there Devi Parvati asked Devi Sangya and Devi chaya to open their eyes.

Devi Parvati – "Putri Sangya, Putri Chaya , I am very pleased with you. Please ask me for a boon."

Both opened their eyes and were overjoyed by seeing Devi Parvati in front of her.

Devi Sangya – "Mata I want a son who shall have the radiance and power like my husband. He shall be handsome, strong, intelligent, pure, righteous, and courageous. But even having all qualities of Devas, he shall be humble and respectful to others. Mata, I want a son whom adharm can never touch. But I also want him to stay with me in Suryalok. He shall never go away from both of us ."

Devi Chaya - " Mata I want a son who would essence of both us. He should be cunning, honest , generous, compassionate and confident . He should sword of justice and shield of inocent."

Devi Parvati smiled and said – "Putri it is impossible to have everything you wish. I can bless you with a son who will have the power and radiance of your husband. Who will be handsome, strong, intelligent, pure, righteous, cunning ,honest, generous, compassionate, confident and courageous. But putri I cannot assure you that he will always stay at Suryalok because this son of yours is destined to be a great hero. For that, he has to leave you. But let me assure you one thing. Once his duty towards humanity is fulfilled, he will come back to Suryalok."

Devi Sangya – "Mata I am blessed that you chose my son to fight for humanity. Okay, I agree with your blessing."

Devi Chaya - "Me too"

Devi Parvati – " Both of you , from today both with Suryadev should start a puja for tridev and tridevi. On the seventh day, a part of your inner strength will enter inside Suryadev and his radiance will increase. At that time both of you shall exchange your powers and then both of your powers will be mixed and only then you can have your desired son."

7 days later in Suryalok

All the members of Suryaok were excited to invite the new member of the Sun family. Devi Sangya, Devi chaya and Suryadev were busy with the puja. All other members of the family other than the busy ones were present there. While all the rituals were completed then at the auspicious moment both Devi Sangya , Devi chaya and Suryadev sat for mediation. Devi Parvati informed them that there will be a sacred moment to bear their son. During meditation, a divine light emerged from Devi Sangya's and Devi chaya's body which entered Suryadev's body. Then Suryadev's radiance increased, Suryadev started chanting the mantra to increase his radiance which will get mixed with both of his wifes energy so that it could enter both of their womb and could bear her desired son. But suddenly he heard a mantra. It was a powerful mantra and if any devotee chanted that mantra to call a God, he was compelled to go to that devotee and bless him/her with a child. Suryadev had no option left. He had to leave Suryalok otherwise it would create a huge impact on the universe. So he left Suryalok and went to Prithvi Lok.

Prithvi Lok

As the evening sun cast its gentle everlasting rays upon the land, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. The brightness and warmth reached every corner of the land even if the dusk have already approached and the sun is about set. The tree casted huge shadows under whose shade Kunti, standing by the river bank, began to chant the divine mantra she had received from Rishi Durvasa. Her words resonated with devotion, echoing through the stillness of the dusk.

And then, as if responding to her call, Suryadev materialized before her. Kunti's eyes widened in astonishment and curiosity, her heart racing with a mixture of awe and disbelief. With trembling lips, she asked, "Are you really Suryadev?"

Suryadev's smile was warm and reassuring. "Indeed, I am Suryadev," he replied, his voice carrying the resonance of the cosmos. He gazed at Kunti with eyes that held ancient wisdom and timeless knowledge.

"Why did you invoke me, young maiden?" Suryadev inquired gently, his presence radiating an otherworldly energy.

Kunti's curiosity shone in her eyes as she responded, "I invoked you to test the power of the mantra, to see if it would truly bring forth a dev as the boon promised."

Suryadev's eyes crinkled in amusement. "And you sought to test this before even entering wedlock?" he mused.

Kunti blushed, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and fascination. "Yes," she admitted, her gaze never leaving Suryadev's radiant form.

A knowing smile played on Suryadev's lips. "Very well, dear one. Your curiosity has led you here, and it is now time for me to bestow upon you my blessings," he declared, raising his hand in a gesture of divine benediction.

In an instant, Kunti understood the gravity of his words. Her heart raced as she began to speak, her words tumbling out in a rush. "No, please! I did not seek a child. I cannot accept this! My father's reputation, my own honor, and the judgment of society... I cannot bear the burden of carrying a child out of wedlock!"

Suryadev's expression remained serene and expressionless, his gaze unwavering. "Dear Kunti, once a dev is invoked through this sacred mantra, their blessings must be granted in the form of a child. The balance of the universe depends on it. You must face the consequences of your choices and actions."

Tears welled up in Kunti's eyes as she realized the weight of her decision. She fell to her knees, her emotions cascading in turmoil. Her voice cracked as she spoke, "Please, Suryadev, I implore you... Do not impose such a punishment upon me. I was driven by curiosity, not the desire for a child. Spare me from this fate!"

Suryadev's compassion was palpable, and yet his resolve remained unyielding. He gently extended his hand toward Kunti, his touch carrying both reassurance and inevitability. "Kunti, you must understand that every choice has its consequences. And now, you must accept the path that has been set before you."

With a solemn nod, Suryadev bestowed his blessings upon Kunti, his divine energy enveloping her. As his radiant essence merged with her being, Kunti felt a profound sense of connection and purpose. Suryadev's voice resonated in her mind, assuring her that a child would be born to her in nine months' time, a child bearing his qualities.

And then, as swiftly as he had appeared, Suryadev vanished from Kunti's sight. Left alone by the riverside, Kunti knelt in contemplation, her thoughts a tumultuous storm. She wept for the path she had unwittingly chosen, for the challenges that lay ahead, and for the choices that would forever alter her destiny.

With her tears dried and her heart steeled, Kunti rose from the ground. A sense of determination coursed through her veins. She knew what she must do, the path she must tread. With every step back to the palace, Kunti's resolve grew stronger. Her curiosity had led her to this juncture, and now she would face the consequences head-on, embracing the uncharted territory that lay before her.

The decisions made and the choices taken in this pivotal chapter resonated with the unseen threads of fate, weaving together a tapestry that would shape the lives of many, including the yet-to-be-born child whose essence would be infused with the Surya Dev along with his wife and Narayan's residing a soul from another timeline.

The journey of Karna, the child of destiny, was inextricably linked to Kunti's choices and the cosmic design that enveloped them both.

9 month later.....

Our protagonist as karna has finally taken his birth.
