Bab 46: Locating A Human Girl

"Damn it!" Edmund cursed while narrowly dodging to the side. The ground where he had stood a moment before exploded in a shower of rocks and dirt and the beast's claws carved deep furrows into the earth.

Edmund knew he had to be quick. He couldn't afford to be delayed too long if he wanted any chance of reaching the humans before the others.

He darted around the creature, searching for an opening, and when he found one, he lunged forward with his dagger in hand, aiming for the creature's side.

But the beast was fast. Faster than he'd anticipated. It twisted, slamming its massive body into him and sending him skidding across the rocky ground. Edmund grunted as he rolled to his feet, his eyes narrowing. "Alright, then. Let's do this the hard way."

He activated Light Empowerment, causing a rush of energy to permeate his body as the light in the surroundings engulfed him.
