Bab 38: Chapter 38 Standing Punishment

For two straight days, both the school and the Shen Family's set traps for Shen Mianmian had failed, a first for her, leaving Zhou Siyu feeling quite uneasy.

Once out of the village, she leveraged her height and long legs and, when Shen Mianmian wasn't looking, hopped on her bike and sped off.

Shen Mianmian wasn't surprised at all; even if she had gotten on the bike, Zhou Siyu would have found a way to throw her off, possibly resulting in a fall. Walking was safer, though she feared she'd be late today.

Luckily it was Chen Jie's class, and he probably wouldn't give her a hard time.

Of course, she also knew that this couldn't go on forever.

Just half a year more, and she would be able to stay at the school dorms. In the city, there were more people and more ways to make money. If she worked hard, earning enough for tuition and living expenses was possible. Breaking away from the Shen Family couldn't be rushed; it had to be taken slowly.
