Chloe thought Daniel had woken up. But when she turned around, he was in his sleep with his eyes closed tightly.
"He hasn't woken up. It's me." Marlin came in after talking to the doctor, "The doctor said he might wake up in two hours."
With a nod, Chloe held Daniel's hand.
At this moment, Nancy walked in. "Mrs. Vicky, I come to visit Daniel. This is the medicine that Daniel's supposed to take when he wakes up. I have marked the dosage and usage." Nancy walked over and placed those on the table.
Vicky nodded with a warm and soft smile on her face, "Thank you, Nancy. You are such a considerate girl."
Nancy waved her hand, "That's what I should do. He's an important friend to me."
"Chloe, remember to pay close attention to Daniel. We can never be too cautious." Later, Nancy added, "Can you promise me?"
Chloe was stunned for a moment, "Sure, you can count on me."
"That's right," Vicky patted Chloe on her shoulder, "Chloe has grown up and can take care of Daniel now."
"He has taken care of me for so long. It's time I repay his kindness."
In the afternoon, since Daniel needed to rest, Vicky and Marlin returned to the company to take charge. While Chloe stayed here, looking after Daniel.
She focused her eyes on him, his hair, his brow, his eyes, his nose, and his lips.
She couldn't count how many times she had secretly looked at his handsome face in the past.
Now she could stare at him as long as she wanted without fearing being caught.
But she felt unhappy.
She could ask Helen to cook some nutritious food for him. But she didn't bring her phone.
So she borrowed the nurse's phone and made a call.
"Helen, it's me, Chloe."
"Chloe? Where are you? Are you okay? Why aren't you using your phone?"
Chloe sounded a little depressed. "Helen, Daniel is in hospital, but he's fine now. Can you make some nutritious soup and send it to the hospital?"
After hanging up the phone, Chloe found her cheeks were wet with tears and the nurse was looking at her.
"Miss, are you alright?"
Chloe nodded, "I'm fine."
Before she went back to Daniel, she headed to another ward, Kevin's ward.
But she didn't come in.
With a peek, she saw that Laura was sitting by Kevin, holding his hand tightly and fearing losing him.
Laura cared about her as much before. But that was in the past.
A bitter smile was shown on Chloe's face. After talking to Kevin's doctor and knowing that everything was fine with him, she left without telling anyone.
"Chloe, where did you go? Daniel has woken up." Nancy sounded unhappy.
Daniel just woke up, still looking pale and a little vulnerable. His eyes softened as he looked at Chloe. He cracked a proud smile as if saying 'I told you I would be fine.'
For a while, Chloe locked eyes with him in this quiet ward.
"Daniel, are you okay?" Suddenly, a female shrill nearly pierced Chloe's eardrum.
Sasha rushed in and pushed Chloe out of her way.
"Chloe?" Helen asked as she saw Chloe hitting the door frame.
Chloe rubbed her arm helplessly.
"Apologize." Daniel commanded in a hoarse voice, "And leave me alone."
Sasha pursed her lips and pretended to cry without a tear, playing pitiful.
Daniel shook his head and didn't want to see her at all.
Nancy stepped in with a frown, "Miss, we are in the hospital. Please keep your voice down."
Sasha snapped, "Shut up! Who are you anyway? Daniel's doctor? What's wrong with my dear Daniel? Can you do your job well?"
"Sasha, be quiet!" Chloe walked over and tried to stop her.
Sasha glared at Chloe on the verge of losing her temper, "Chloe, my Daniel is in hospital because of you, right! Everything is fine until you moved in!"
Sash raised her hand and wanted to slap Chloe but her hand was grabbed in the air.
"Daniel! Chloe is bullying me!"
Chloe shook her head. That was enough. She had enough.
Then she turned to Nancy calmly, "Nancy, please call the hospital security. Someone is causing trouble here."
Nancy took out her cell phone and made a call instantly.
Soon, security guards rushed in, "Who's causing trouble here?"
"She." Chloe pointed to Sasha who was still struggling to break free from Helen.
The security guards grabbed Sasha, "Miss, please leave with us."
"How dare you arrest me? Let me go! This is intentional injury!"
Seeing Sasha was unwilling to cooperate, they grabbed her and forced her to leave.
The ward finally returned to peace and Nancy sighed with relief, "That was really intense… "
Helen agreed, "That's right. Miss Sasha is quite noisy. Please ignore her."
"Whatever. She will learn her lesson from the security guards."
Chloe tried to cheer up, "Helen, what have you brought for Daniel?"
As Chloe opened the box, the aroma of soup spread, which almost made her drool.
Seeing this, Nancy couldn't help making fun of Chloe, "It looks like Chloe is a foodie, am I right?"
Then Nancy took the spoon from Chloe, "Daniel, let me help you with it."
Chloe froze for a moment since she wanted to do this for Daniel.
"Then, I will check Sasha." Chloe made an excuse.
"Wait," Daniel stopped her and glanced at Nancy, "Could you please check Sasha for me? You know the hospital better than Chloe."
Nancy smiled awkwardly and handed the spoon back to Chloe.
While in the security room, Sasha was crying at the top of her voice and refused to get up on the ground, causing a headache for the security guards.
"Miss, don't make a fuss." A security guard said in a cold voice.
Sasha couldn't care less about her image as an elegant lady, "Who the hell do you think you are? Why did you bring me here? Let me go!"
"Because you were causing trouble and affected the patient!" The security guard sneered.
"Thank you, guys. Please leave her to me now." Nancy, in the white uniform, came to the security room.
Those security guards saw Nancy's badge, "You are Dr. Brown. You can take her away. But make sure she won't cause any trouble again!"
Nancy answered with a smile.
While Sasha looked up at Nancy who seemed much better than Chloe, gentle and soft, not arrogant at all.
"Sasha, do you want to leave here?" Nancy waited patiently.
Sasha pondered for a moment and nodded her head. Before she left, she didn't forget to roll her eyes towards the security guards.
Nancy took her to a cafe and ordered some desserts for her.
"Nancy, you're so much nicer than that little bitch Chloe. Why the hell does she think she can tell me what to do?" Sasha said with food in her mouth.
Nancy didn't eat but watched her, "After all, she is one of the Johnson, born with a silver in her mouth."
"That's right. She is always so arrogant as the daughter of the Johnson family. However, all the fortune will be inherited by the son in the end."
"Kevin? He may not be able to inherit the property. After all, he can't be too busy considering his health condition," Nancy analyzed.
Sasha shook her head, "No way. My mom said Kevin has been studying for MBA in addition to his scientific research. Clearly, he's getting ready for the inheritance."
Nancy blurted out in surprise, "Has he?"
"Yes," Sasha nodded affirmatively, "And it is said that Kevin is building his network of business relationships."
It was getting dark outside the window. Nancy murmured, "It seems it's not going to be easy for Chloe."
"What? What did you say?" Sasha raised her eyes and looked at Nancy, asking in confusion.
"Although sometimes Chloe might sound arrogant. But she has a good heart, just like you."
Sasha frowned disapprovingly, "Nancy, you are just too kind. She just tricked Daniel to donate his bone marrow to Kevin."
Speaking of this, Sasha was full of anger. Daniel was always on Chloe's side and she could do nothing to Chloe, only occasionally having the upper hand when bickering.
Nancy didn't like Sasha either, but there's no way she would show it before her.
Sasha seemed to like Daniel as well, which displeased Nancy.
Nancy hid her dislike with a smile on her face, "Sasha, did you finish?"
"Yes. We can go now." Sasha wiped her mouth and looked at Nancy with a naive smile.
Later, Nancy drove Sasha back to Daniel's home personally.
"Sasha, is it here?" Nancy had never been to Daniel's home and asked uncertainly.
Sasha fell asleep just now and woke up in a daze to find that they had arrived, "Oh, yeah, that's it. Would you like to come in?"
Nancy would kill to have a look. But she remained calm outwardly, "Sure. I can keep you company for a while."
Sasha opened the door and invited Nancy in.
"Sasha, which room is yours?" Nancy remembered that Chloe also lived here.
Speaking of this, Sasha was getting angry again, sitting on the sofa with her arms crossed on her chest, "I have Chloe's bedroom. And she shamelessly sleeps with Daniel!"
"They sleep together?" Nancy placed the mug on the table heavily with a loud sound.
She composed herself and explained to Sasha who looked confused, "Sorry, I'm a little surprised."
Sasha believed her at once "Who isn't! Anyway, Chloe is just a damn nuisance. I hate her!"
"Nancy, can you help me kick her out of Daniel's room?"
