The guards jack him up, mostly trying to get him to be quiet. They bend his arms in a grotesque way, I can’t stand to see him like this. To see them treating him like he’s some. . .dog on the street.
I leave Katherine and Piper behind, running warp speed to him. I want to wrap my arms around him, kiss him on the cheek. Save him from the abusive torment he’s going through right now. Before I could even get close enough, Piper pulls me back. Her tight grip strangles my body. I try and try to cry away from her, but to no avail.
I’m assuming it’s super strength or something, because I pushed her up against the wall. Her head made a lot of noise as it collided with the wall. My legs charge to him, my arms wrap around his neck. Clutching him like he would disappear into dust.
“Oh Quinn.” He whispers into my hair.
“Alexander, what are you doing here?” My hands hold onto his face, those grey specks dance around in them. He shouldn’t be here; he’s not supposed to be here.
“I came to save you.” The part of me being mad at him falters. He really is my knight and shining armor.
“NO! I don’t need you to save me, I was saving you. You got to let me does this.” He risked his life saving me from Sasha, now I must risk my life and make sure he lives a long and healthy life. If I don’t do this Yount would kill more people in my life, and would start with him then my grandpa. I mean, Alexander did kill him and Stella’s daughter, they have every right to want him dead. His heads rested on a spike. I never thought I would sacrifice myself for someone, never thought my love for someone would be so deep. So wonderful.
My arms are now clutching the air, Piper pulls me back from him. Her strong nails digging into my sides, I can’t leave him. Alexander trashes against the guards, cutting loose from their iron grip.
He runs towards me; my arms open for his embrace. His soft lips connect with mine, it’s been so long since I’ve kissed him. It felt like the first time, the first kiss. Everything around me tunes out and it’s just me and him. Existing in this chaotic world. My fingers slide through his black locks, feeling them tangle between them.
We find ourselves being pulled away from each other, him going towards the end of the hall. And me being dragged back to my room. Three words manage to leave me as I jerk around.
“I LOVE YOU!”
“I love you.” He whispers back to me. Without our mate bond, I wouldn't have been able to hear him.
Narrator’s P.O.V.-
As Quinneth and Alexander fight to remain in each other’s arms, Aren and Christian are running for their lives. Thank God for the training they’ve endured when they were younger because they probably wouldn’t have made it out.
Behind them they see three guards running after them, they scream at them to stop. On the side arrows are flying their way. Aren does a tuck and roll dodging two arrows from the left side.
“Aren! Stay close to me.” Christian screams at Aren. Since they left Alexander, and he may even be dead right now, he must keep Aren safe. They both need to keep themselves safe.
Alexander needs them to send the message to their father, letting them know that he has been captured, and needs to be saved. He’s counting on them.
Right now, Aren is starting to see familiar lands. They are miles away from being at the Golden Summit Pack. Running in human form will take them forever, but in wolf form they’ll get their within 10 minutes.
Aren goes from her tall, tan and long-haired body to her wolf form. The grey fur moves freely on the wind, her paws feel great against the ground. She loves being in her wolf form, it makes her feel free.
To her left she sees Christian in his also. Christian doesn’t have the grey fur that Aren does, his is a chestnut brown kind of color. It pairs greatly with his chocolate eyes. Luci always liked his wolf; he thinks that she prefers it more.
‘How far away are we?’ Aren says in Christian's head.
‘About 5 minutes away. The guards are still chasing us, we need to dodge them.’ He gives her a nod.
‘You go left, and I'll go right.’ They go in opposite directions, leading the guards in different directions. Since Aren ran off first they followed her instead, leading Christian on a free path. Aren ran in the right direction because there's a steep waterfall up ahead. When she was in training, her class would train out there. She remembers it being so steep because she fell down it once.
“STOP.” One of the guards screamed at her, she will never stop. Aren was never one to back down from anything, her father is the Gamma the toughest man she knows. Besides the Alpha and King. Coming closer to the hill, she dodges around It and the guards slips down the waterfall. She could hear their voices fading as they go down, being engulfed by the stream of water.
Meanwhile, at the pack house Aora and Skipper stand outside the house with Leo. Since Alexander rescued Leo from the prisons with Quinneth and Katana, he now belongs to their pack. It is said when an Alpha saves someone, they are automatically entered into it. He’s been spending most of his time hanging with Aora and Skipper, since they are near his age. He finds Aora rather pushy, but Skipper. . .she’s interesting and beautiful. Any guy with eyes could see that, the best part he likes about her is her braces.
They also found out that Leo also can feel emotions. When he was in the prisons, he couldn’t tell anyone that he had powers, they would abuse them. Skipper has never known anyone who had the same powers as her, she’s always felt somewhat alone. All the emotions of people rush inside of her at once, sometimes making it unbearable. Since Leo is much older, he can control it better. So, him and Skipper have been working on controlling it.
One interesting thing is that Skipper knows that Leo likes her and he her. That has to be the worst thing about feeling emotions, you can’t hide them. He wants to ask her out, but feels like he isn’t good enough for her. She’s the beta’s daughter, and he’s the son of a fisherman.
While Skipper and Leo battle with their feelings and thoughts, Aora sits to the side and plays on her phone. She wants to give them some space, she’s hoping Skipper would ask Leo out so she won’t have to hang with them every time Skipper gets scared to hang out with him. Getting cut off from playing her game Aora sees two wolfs running from the woods.
One has grey fur and the other has chestnut fur. She identifies the grey one as her sister, Deshka and the other Skipper’s brother Christian.
She leaves her phone on the ground, running up to them. Her sister and Christian shift back to their human forms. Immediately she hands her jacket to Aren, she’s currently naked. While her eyes shift over, she sees Leo give Christian his shirt and a blanket.
“What’s going on?” asked Leo.
“Trouble.” Was all Aren said.
“What kind of trouble.” Skipper asked.
“Alexander, he’s in trouble. We need to tell the Alpha.”
“What happened to him?” Aora asked.
“I can’t explain sister, we must tell the Alpha first it’s urgent.” They both walk past them, leaving Leo, Aora and Skipper in the dust confused.
