Countess Marin's smile faltered, and her discomfort deepened. Walter had several times warned her to avoid any interactions with Lady Delilah during this period. However, what she could not understand was why the young master had chosen her, despite knowing she was Lady Delilah's caretaker when she was much younger, to train Ye Jin. What's more, everyone in Ariteria knew of Lady Delilah's conflict with Young Master Dion. How could they not have known it when she had announced it during the grand ball three years ago? Yet, Countess Marin knew that refusal was not an option when it came to Dion.

"'His Lordship' places great trust in your talents, Countess," Delilah continued with a smile, though her words were dripping with sarcasm.

"You flatter me, my lady," Marin replied cautiously, withdrawing her hand gently. "But truly, I am just a servant following orders."
