Bab 2: the hardship of time
It was already night. The whole day sam just lost in his memories. Now sitting on a log facing fire, he started eating the barely cooked fish with some some spices.
"i should probably meet with james. Emi is probably grown up she should be 19 this year."
After a lot of consideration, Sam finally decided to look for his one and only friend james. So, he went inside the little wooden house and opened a only metal box he owns.
"it been a long time. It time for sam to come back"
Joking to himself sam looked inside to find a bag pack, 2 set of nice clothing's and a pair of shoes, a files holder, and thick and bulky phone with a charger and a family photo.
He took out the bulky phone and tried turning it on. And to his dumb wishes it didn't turn on.
"what do I expect? Guess I have to make a trip to village first."
With nothing else to do. Sam just lay down on the wooden bed. While he was laying down he started to move his energy around his body. Even though he isn't able to increase it.
It seems to have multiple application to it. He already found few applications as increasing in strength actively, senses and today as he fought with bear.
He could some how feel what beat could do though how the energy inside it moved.
It was early in the morning before even the sun rise. Sam woke up and put his cloths and his files along with the phone and charger inside his bag pack.
Then he packed some fruits and some roots in side a cloth bag and left his settlement. He ran at inhumanly speed though the forest until he saw a familiar looking path. which was leading to a village.
It took an hour just to reach outskirts of the village. The sun rise fell as it lightened the path and he could already see the village. He slowed down and stated walking towards the village.
Just at the entrance of the village. He heard a vehicle sound he turned around to see an old bus coming toward the village. It slowed near him. When a person shouted
"are you getting on?"
Sam shake head while saying
"no"
The bus speed up and went into the village. The village was average in size with almost 250 housing. As sam didn't have any cash on him he didn't get on the bus.
Sam got into the center of the village where he saw some farmers opening the small vegetable stalls. He chose a clean space and just opened his cloth bag which contained some fruits and some rare roots.
As he placed it down a person who opened a stall next to him asked him.
"hello there. I never saw you here. Do you move into this village?"
Sam thought for few moments. before responding
"yeah I just moved in just now. And this the only time I would be selling here."
Even thought the vendor didn't understand the concept of 1 time selling. He just stayed silent not being rude.
Within a few minutes after. He sold all his fruits and roots. While making more on roots as they are rare. He finally holding cash after a long time.
As he was think of going to city to find an atm. He found a new mobile shop on the street. he wanted to charge his phone and didn't want to ask some strange to charge his phone at there home.
But now the mobile shop is different. Without hesitation he got charge on his phone. But when he opened it. It seems that his sim was deactivated because he didn't use it for 4 years.
"it hard to get back to society. Lucky the the phone is working and the save numbers are still there."
He tried to recharge his sim. But unfortunately it seems he had to buy a new sim with new number. So he bought a new sim. And it seems it will take sometime to get activated.
Sam decided to head towards a city first.so, he got on a bus it will take 3 hours just to reach the city.
"i will probably reach there faster on my foot but there is no hurry."
Just as he reached a city, sam's sim finally got activated. With a smile on his face he called james.
"the number you have dialed in currently unavailable…."
"what? Did he change his number?"
the number didn't work. Sam got little worried and called james sister emi. Fortunately this time it was ringing.
"ring ring… hello?"
When he heard the voice memories of emi and james started to comeback again.
"hellooo? Who is dis?"
Emi asked again with little angrily this time
"emi?"
"yes. Who are you?"
"i am sam."
He didn't say much. As he used to be close to emi for her to know just by his name.
There was a long pause on the phone. Until hesitant voice came form his phone
"samuel? re..rechard samuel?"
"it is me, emi. How are you?"
"WHERE DID YOU GO? Everyone thought you were dead!"
Emi voice sounded in rage. But at the end of the sentence he heard her cry before he could respond he heard her again.
"i am glad. you are alive, sam."
"i am fine emi. I am sorry for disappearing suddenly. Some things happened. How is everyone?"
"everyone is fine sam. When are coming back?"
It seems she had a lot of questions but still hold back for asking the most important one. Sam thought for few seconds then he replied back.
" I don't know the exact time it will take but I will reach there within two days. I will let you and james know when the flights arrives. And can you share me james number. His old phone number isn't working now."
she said "OK" and hang up
Sam expect the sudden hang up. But the next second there was a message containing james number. He saved james number and just about to dial the number
"ring ring…
