Bab 53: Denzel's First Mission.
"So, this is your first mission, I would want to let you know that you should prepare for anything, also, you might also want to ease up your PTSD" Owl said to Denzel who followed him at his back.
"My mission? it isn't our mission?" Denzel focus changed to look at Owl.
"Yes, it's your mission, I am just here to show you how we do things."
"Ohh, but what kind of mission are we going for?"
"You will know when we get there... Ohh, we are already there."
Denzel looked down, at the lights that shone in each building. He was trying to find where exactly they were going.
"Look for somewhere to dress up after you transform, you can't move around unclothed. Meet me at that building," Owl dropped his wings, flinging Denzel's backpack to the rooftop of one of the houses. His wings began to fade away, as it went back into Owl's back. Denzel could see how Owl's cloth appeared back on his body the moment the wings returned into Owl's body.
Immediately Owl's wings had gone out of sight, from where he was, Owl went down, landing on the ground with his two legs.
Before Denzel landed, he began to transform back into his human form, trying out what he saw from Owl transformation.
When he had completely changed to his human form, he looked at his body and saw that he was still naked. He landed on the roof of a house where Owl had thrown his backpack to before he landed.
Opening the bag, he took out a shirt and shorts and quickly wore them. Denzel looked down, at the distance between the top of the building and the ground.
It wasn't something tough for Denzel, he was already used to it when he stayed at Mountaly, so he held the roof with his hands, releasing it to jump to the ground.
When Denzel landed completely, he dabbed his palms together, walking as though nothing happened.
He got to the building Owl showed to him, entering it as soon as he confirmed it. Denzel halted in his steps the moment he set his eyes on what was going on in the auditorium, "What the hell," He said to himself.
It was only normal that a meeting would be going on in an auditorium, so Denzel had a bit of an idea of what was going on before he got there.
What he didn't seem to understand was the reason why Owl had already murdered four out of ten men.
It also felt strange, because if it was just meant to be a mission to kill, while Owl had eliminated about two, the rest were meant to either escape or call the police, but the other men were in a fighting stance, all planning to gang up on Owl.
"Are you here?" Owl said, turning his head around to make a complete revolution. That was one thing that was unique about an Owl."What are you waiting for?, join me," Owl added.
Denzel began to walk forward slowly before he spoke, "Is this the mission, to kill?"
"What else were you expecting?"Owl turned his head once more to face Denzel.
"Not this though, I'm out of here, I don't want to partake in any form of assassination, "Denzel turned his back to leave the hall when Owl ran to his front.
"Where do you think you're going? Do you really think I would let you live if you choose to leave here? Take note of something, Leia gave you two chances, either you help her or you die, and I promise you, I won't hesitate to kill you."
"Huh.."
"Hey, Owl, you have a nerve turning your back to us whilst we are still fighting, we will gladly take the chances you gave to us to kill you,"
"Hey, pushovers, keep your mouth shut, I have a matter to attend to right here, I would get back to when I am done with this kid," Owl turned his head once more to face the delinquents he was fighting earlier.
'Kid? Me, kid?' Denzel thought to himself, He was completely pissed, but he knew that he could do nothing.
"I would bet with you that you can't kill me, I would end you right here and get the fuck out of you and Leia's life," Denzel said, getting ready to fight against Owl.
"Hmph," Owl sneered, looking at how Denzel hyped himself, "Did killing E-phant give you some guts? You can't even kill when you are forced to, but you think you could end me?"
Owl turned around, walking towards the other men to get himself to the centre of both Denzel and the delinquents.
"E, you said you want to place a bet right, then I would give you a handicap, you and these outlaws right here should join hands and fight me, If you kill me, if you can that is, do whatever you like. I am also giving you delinquents a chance,"
"Huh?! Who are you calling delinquents?!" One of the six men yelled out, pointing his finger to Owl.
"Is this much of a handicap for us? I mean it's just that kid that is going to join us, is that going to make any difference?" Another one spoke up.
"Well, one is something, let's just accept it," Another one said.
At Denzel's end, it vexed him that those men kept referring to him as a kid, 'I am 24 years old for crying out loud,' Denzel thought to himself, getting more pissed off the more he heard them refer to him as a kid.
"I accept the challenge," Denzel clenched his fist, moving closer to Owl as he spoke, giving himself more assurance.
"Let me alter what you just said, I don't give a fuck about any challenge, you are the one who challenged me, and you would pay for it, That said, let's begi-"
Before Owl could finish what he was saying, the outlaws rushed towards him, each of them falling on Owl.
"Y'all should wait!" Denzel yelled when he noticed something the moment they flooded Owl.
All of a sudden, the men began to fall off, as something began to emerge. It was Owl's wings.
Before they could all fall on Owl, Owl went down by himself, his wings bulging out of his back, to cover him up before they could land on him.
When they all lay over him, Owl released his wings, spreading it out completely, and that made all of the delinquents fall off Owl's back.
"Y'all, wait, let's come up with a plan to take him off."
"Who the hell would want to listen to a kid anyway? Like you would come up with a good plan that can take this monster off," One of the men said, getting himself up from the ground.
'Is that the difference between our strength? They infer to me as a kid but they refer to Owl as a monster, well, no one knows how strong I am yet,' Denzel thought to himself as he walked towards Owl.
Owl turned his face to the right, dodging the attack that came towards him from there, in another second, he turned his face to look behind him, swinging his right foot to kick the person that was behind him, immediately he did that, he looked back at his front, and saw that one of them was about to give him a flying kick to his face. He went down, sliding to the other side of the man and then taking up his feet to kick him whilst he was still in the air.
"Since y'all have chosen to fight like animals, I would just join you." Denzel ran into their middle, trying to force out his wings to protrude out of his back just as Owl did, but it all led to nothing.
'Switch!!!' Denzel thought to himself, giving himself hopes that what happened when he found E-phant would repeat itself, but it all led to nothing.
Denzel saw Owl run towards him, and he immediately tried to move to dodge whatever attack Owl might have been trying to do to him. But his plan failed, he was stopped immediately with one hand, and Owl's other hand moved straight to his neck to strangle him.
'What?' Denzel thought to himself when he felt himself being raised from his neck. He didn't seem to understand how that happened despite how fast he tried to run away from Owl's attack.
Denzel began to struggle, holding Owl's hand and trying to drag it off. Owl immediately turned his head around to look behind him, he saw one of the delinquents run towards him with his fist stretched out.
He stretched his leg to the back, giving the man a kick to his abdomen and the man went down immediately.
Denzel saw that Owl's focus had left him, so he used most of the strength in him to push off Owl's hand, which made him fall to the ground immediately, coughing continuously and wheezing for breath.
'E-phant's strength is nothing close to Owl's own' Denzel thought to himself. He looked at Owl and saw that he hissed, turning his back off to punch one of the delinquents that were still standing.
Denzel saw that Owl was about to stomp on one of the man's abdomen, so he used the last piece of energy he had in him to get up, running towards the man that Owl was about to step on the moment he stood. He quickly picked the man up from the ground, taking him to one end of the auditorium.
"That was a nice one from you, you are always trying to save others just as Leia said," Owl said looking towards the direction Denzel went to drop the man, stretching his hands to stop another attack as he did.
"You all should step back, let me face him, I would save you all, I pro-"
"Don't begin to make a promise you wouldn't be able to keep, you know you have no chance against me," Owl turned the moment he saw the other men were backing off.
"Why can't you all just run away from here?" Denzel asked the man that was behind him.
"It isn't a matter of running away, that bastard would still find us," The man replied Denzel, still groaning in pain.
"Don't worry, you all should stay together, I would take care of him, I would try my best," Denzel said walking towards Owl.
