"So the numerous insults aside, that last part was nice to hear."

"It was?" Lyn said stunned. 

She did not expect to hear this from him, what happened to his usual teasing self? Lyn felt him caress her back.

"I already admitted how much of a jerk I was to you at the start. I can't give anymore excuses why I behaved that way. It would not surprise me if you hated me, but instead your praising me?"

"Well, I hated you a little." Lyn admitted. "But I could never truly hate you."

Even though he kept his distance from her, there were occasions where  he would show her kindness. During those rare moments, she understood.

'This person is naturally kind.' No matter how good he is at acting cold, when she is in trouble and needs help. Rhys cannot continue his act.
