Instructor Ross had a slight smile on his face, and seeing this the group that was called shuddered.
'Maybe I've scared the kids a too much.' Ross chuckled, noticing their behavior.
He didn't let the suspense drag on for too long as he said whilst looking at the paper strapped in his clipboard. "Caleb Laurent from Class 1 possessing a fire-type pokemon: Magby. Placing first among the others that run in the field with their pokemon, having the record of finishing twenty in 33:45.23 seconds. Overall, it's a commendable achievement considering your age, I'm surprised though that your pokemon was keeping up with you, well it is normal I guess since it is a rare species. Keep this up then you will earn a reward from the school. There is still two test remaining."
Hearing there would be rewards students perked up and listened attentively.
Ross continued. "The school provides two different reward in which you could only choose one: an equipment that would be helpful on your pokemon training or TP. TP is a currency used in any Pokemon Training School here in Kalos which would be the Trainer Oro Academy. This school branches are found here in Lumiouse City, Santalune City, Cyllage City, Shalour City and basically in a city where there's a Gym. Bear in mind this kinds of reward will only be rewarded on the first and last of your pokemon training every semester so pick wisely."
Hearing the words, the five students that was called sighed in relief.
Caleb was grateful that Diantha had informed him about the pokemon training's rewarding rewards. However, he felt confused when he heared that it was a thing only given on the first and last of every semester. Didn't she just told him earlier it was every Saturday?
He glanced towards her only to see her shaking her head, also was unaware of the change.
They both were feeling very antsy though, because all this time they thought that it was just a normal equipment like a new generation bag or some sort. But they never knew it was an pokemon training equipment!
The students who were oblivious of gaining rewards were in a commotion. They whispered in bewilderment and envy as they stared at their classmates, knowing they would gain something from the instructor.
Especially to those from the F-Class, they felt very jealous while complaining they should have runned faster earlier so they could have also benefit from their running.
F-Class were composed of students having poor or average living situations so when they were told there would be rewards as large as training equipment they were shooked.
Training Equipment for Pokemons were very expensive, usually you can only see it in a trainer school or in a scientist lab that was used for experiments. So one could imagine how much it cost.
Some students already knew this because of their parents informing them. However, that was only because someone from their family had joined a Pokemon Trainer School in the past. Thus, prior to the warm-up they already knew. Though they were also confused since, like Diantha, were informed about it being every saturday and had no clue about the additional of a pokemon equipment.
"This five are the bunch that did very well in this test. The rest are just dissapointing, learn from this five and improve. Don't make any excuses, you are all at the same age and had the same teachers and instructors teaching you. From here on out I'll only like to see improvements, understood?"
"Sir, yes sir!" All the students shouted in unison, like they were in a military training. It was hilarious seeing kids act like this. The Pokemons were also roaring and chirping as they looked at Ross.
"Now that all your bodies are already warmed-up. Let's start, follow me." Ross led the students to a side where there are boulders in any kinds of shapes and sizes. Brutally ignoring the eight students who were panting and running around the field.
They were led by the Instructor to a part beside the field where there is a side that has a patch of ground big enough for the group, rough estimate in Caleb's mind is, a quadruple size of a basketball court.
He pointed towards the rocks around instructed. "This time we will be testing and at the same time training your pokemons capacity on their respective typing." He turned towards Caleb and said.
"Caleb, do you know what moves your Magby know? Tell me."
Caleb nodded. "Magby knows three moves, which are Leer, Smog and then Ember. I believe telling his egg move is unnecessary Instructor?"
"That's alright, you don't have to disclose that." Ross liked how Caleb was very secretive on his pokemon's arsenal. It is a very commendable trait. "What I wanted for you to do and for everyone with their pokemon. Is too have their pokemon constantly use a move that corresponded to their type speciallity. Like Caleb's Magby, instruct your pokemon to use ember or smog on the surface of a boulder."
"The purpose for this is to have your pokemons further master and use the move more effeciently. I will also help you on what you could improve and do with your pokemon. As your Pokemon's proffeciency on their typing improve, they could learn a move through the practice, like flamethrower and thunderbolt which is a much more powerful version of ember and thundershock."
