Bab 266: Jhoto - Altomare
Ash, "Let's go Croconaw, Quilava."
Harley, "Come my beautiful Vileplume and Tentacruel."
Croconaw and Quilava appeared by combining aqua jet and flame charge, they were using those moves to move around the field as if they were flying. While Tentacruel used ice beam to created a bowl of water while Vileplume used moonblast over the makeshift aquarium. Quilava and Croconaw landed in front of Ash and posed making the aqua jet and flame charge dissipate into red and blue sparks. Tentacruel and Vileplume were not behind with their own double performance with the jelly fish Pokemon breaking the ice sculpture and Vileplume using moon blast to make it shimmer. Both sides saw their points going down due to the very flashy and eye catching opening making Ash and Harley smirk.
Arianne, "And we are off to a very eye catching start. That was beautiful with Quilava and Croconaw dancing while flying and Tentacruel and Vileplume creating a beautiful scenery together."
Harley, "Vileplume use petal blizzard and Tentacruel use ice beam."
Ash, "Quilava Will O Wisp and Croconaw hail."
Vileplume used petal blizzard while Tentacruel made the attack stronger by freezing the petals making them sparkle in the sun. Quilava stood in front of Croconaw and and roared creating wisps of flames that looked mystical while Croconaw raised his hands dramatically behind Quilava. The water type was enjoying this as he created hail and brought it down on the blizzard of iced petals. When Quilava saw an opening he sent his wisp of flames to attack the grass type Pokemon who was in in open now getting a hit. Harley was surprised and narrowed his eyes calling for endure and Vileplume got up grunting, his point however went down.
Melody, "Oh Quilava and Croconaw are enjoying this a lot."
Serena chuckled, "Look at those smirks, they really are enjoying this a lot."
Harley, "Not bad, you caught me by surprise but I am not going down that easily."
Ash, "I would be insulted if you did. You are my rival for a reason."
Harley, "How flattering! Vileplume return the favour with poison powder. Tentacruel aqua ring now."
Ash, "Quilava use extrasensory to dodge and Croconaw use water fall to create a shield around you."
Feraligator nodded and use waterfall in a circular motion while Quilava used extrasensory to avoid the attacks coming their way. The poison powder was burned due to the flames on Quilava's back though it turned the water fall purple making Croconaw wince. Quilava narrowed his eyes when he saw the aqua ring head for Feraligator and decided to used Will O Wisp to create a ring of fire to fight it off. While the final battle was occurring Misty was battling Team Rocket's dark faction along side Jessie who was really pissed off. Jessie had been focused on her own battle when Meowth called her with more information on what they had done.
Jessie pulled Misty behind a wall, "Do you remember what happened back in Vermilion City?"
Misty, "Yeah, it is hard to forget."
Jessie, "Guess who was in charge of that facility."
Misty's eyes widened, "Oh!"
Jessie nodded, "They were trying to create an artificial aura user."
Misty blanched, "That's... How?"
Jessie, "Impregnation, injection, etc."
Misty felt sick just listening to it, "These people were.... Oh Mew! This is not good."
Jessie, "No matter what happens stay close to me. Okay? I do not want them to find out about that."
Misty nodded, "Right!"
Silas, "Come out! Come out! Wherever you are ~"
Oakley, "Where did all that bravado go all of a sudden? You were acting so strong earlier."
Jessie, "Well, who am I to deny you? Allow me! Respond to the bond between us mega - bond evolution."
Misty's eyes were wide in wonder despite the situation as Arbok changed forms and looked bigger, majestic and dangerous. His hood was larger with more eye designs on it while the tail, the scales had become larger and the colour had become darker. Misty felt her own aura react to the power coming off from the Mega - Arbok, she did not know a third evolution was possible for the snake Pokemon. Jessie was already on the offensive and the two enemies cursed as they called the rest of their Pokemon which were Houndoom, Gastly and Onix. Misty got ready and called her Chinchou, Poliwrath, Politoad and Blastoise and Kingdra joined them to fight back.
Misty, "One day we can do the same thing."
Blastoise nodded, "Blast, blastoise."
Misty, "Everyone use hydro pump. Push the enemy back."
Oakley, "You can try, Vileplume, Victreebel Tangela. Use petal blizzard."
Misty, "Change of plans rain dance."
Jessie smirked, 'Clever, okay then let's do this.'
Silas, "Time to end this. Hyperbeam and flame thrower. What? Rain?"
Misty, 'My apologies if this ruins your performance Ash.'
Jessie, "Return all except Arbok. Come on buddy."
Mega Arbok hissed following Jessie as she ran to dry ground just in time to hear Misty order her Chinchou to use thunder. The two enem scrambled to order their Pokemon to ground themselves as the electric attack hit them and paralysed them. Jessie took a deep breath letting it out and telling Misty to call for the G - men to pick them up, they could deal with the next part. Misty nodded and gave Gou a call saying they caught two members who were currently paralysed due to a thunder attack. Misty could hear Lance giving orders behind Gou and sending a team with Psychic Pokemon to pick up the two targets.
Jessie, "You okay Arbok?"
Arbok nodded returning to normal, "Ar, arbok bok ar."
Jessie, "The mega - evolution was so perfect this time. I am so proud of you."
Misty placed her communication device away, "This time? So, it did not work before?"
Jessie, "It did but it was difficult to keep the form for so long. Why don't you get some rest little love? You look exhausted."
Arbok nodded nuzzling her one last time before returning, "Arbok."
Misty, "So that was mega - evolution. That was something."
Jessie was about to say something but then the take away team appeared with Sabrina who's eyes lit up in recognition. Misty was happy to see a familiar face and she gave a verbal report on what happened first then Jessie followed up on it. Sabrina eyed the two females as they gave their report and noticed the looks of worry Jessie kept sending the younger girl. Despite wishing to check on them, Sabrina decided to capture the two targets first and send Claire in her place instead. It was very weird for her to care about someone else aside from her younger sister, but then again Brock, Ash and Misty were somewhat like her. People born with power and responsibility that came with that power were on their shoulders.
Jessie pulled Misty aside after the others left, "Are you ok?"
Misty frowned, "I am not sure."
Jessie, "Are your instincts screaming at you to do something?"
Misty, "Yeah but I do not know what, does that make sense?"
Jessie, "Okay, okay, I have an idea. Close your eyes."
Misty, "Huh?"
Jessie, "Trust me."
Misty nodded, "Okay."
Jessie watched her closely, "Okay now, take a deep breath and hold, release it."
Misty, 'Weird but not the weirdest thing.'
Starmie, -Oh! I get it.-
Jessie winked at Starmie, "Now, follow your aura. Listen to what it's telling you."
Misty opened her eyes, "Underwater, we have to go underwater. Does that make sense?"
Jessie, "Come on. You are water specialist so it's obvious your instincts will be strongest in the water."
Misty nodded and followed Jessie to the water area and put her hand into the water only to gasp, "What? Oh Latias, you scared me."
Jessie had a blank face though, "Oh no! No wonder they were searching for frantically for something. It was not a thing they wanted but rather a Pokemon."
Misty, "I think you may be right about the Pokemon part. Lance mentioned we need either Latias or Latios to activate the weapon, a sacrifice so to speak."
Jessie scowled, "No one is sacrificing anyone, not under my watch."
Misty, "I will not allow it either. As an Aura user, it is my job to protect them."
Jessie smiled softly at her for a moment when Latias cooed and nuzzled Misty getting a giggle from her. Then the older woman got serious again and told Misty to feel her aura through the water again. This time Latias did not interrupt her and she saw a dark room or rather the museum and saw a man by the death weapon. Latios or was it Latias was stuck in the sacrificial sphere and Ash was chained to the wall? Oh hell no! Not under her watch, no one was chaining any of her friends to walls. Misty gasped as she Brock away from the vision she just received her hands and shoulders shaking from fear and anger.
Jessie, "What did you see?"
Misty, "They want to catch Ash and chain him to the wall. Latias, where are the rest of your clutch?"
Latias looked confused, "Iaaa?"
Jessie, "Go find them. You need to keep them safe. Hurry!"
Latias became scared and rushed off diving into the water and heading to her clan grounds as fast as she could. Misty got up wobbling a little but Jessie caught her and Misty took a minute to get her legs moving again. The two started to move to where the Festival was being held while Misty warned Gou to keep an eye on Ash as they wanted him too. Lance was not happy to get the update but held his fury back instead barking out orders to increase security around the Festival. Sabrina had joined him after a while hearing the order coming from her boss had caught her attention. Lance informed her of the latest development getting a furious rush of psychic power from the Saffron Gym leader.
Sabrina, "I will stick close to Ash. Alakazam with me."
Alakazam, -As you wish my lady.-
Lance, "Be careful and remember safety comes first. If it feels like your or Ash's life are on danger, get out of that situation. No matter what happens."
Sabrina, "Got it!"
Gou, "Misty, Sabrina is going to stuck closer to Ash. Stay safe!"
Misty, :Thanks Gou.:
Ash, "Let's do this Croconaw, Quilava, together now waterfall and wild discharge."
Harley narrowed his eyes, "Freeze that waterfall with ice beam, Tentacruel and use absorb Vileplume."
Croconaw roared and shocked Harley when instead of one waterfall there were four walls of water surrounding his Pokemon. Quilava smirked and released an electric discharge the moment he saw the shocked faces of his opponents. The Pokemon did not have the time to jump out of the way seeing they were literally cages inside water with electricity that paralysed them. Everyone was left gaping at the sudden ending of the final battle that was getting very intense. Arianne finally cleared her throat and then declared Vileplume and Tentacruel were unable to perform and the winners were Quilava and Croconaw. Quilava roared and started to glow becoming bigger the flames on his back glowing brighter.
Ash, "Quilava you are a Typholsion now."
Arianne, "Congratulations! Both on the victory and on the evolution."
Ash, "Great job guys."
Harley huffed recalling his Pokemon, "Get some rest. Not bad Ash, as expected of my rival."
Ash, "Thank you Harley, admittedly you almost got me many time during the match."
Harley smirked, "Of course I could not make it easy for you, could I?"
Arianne, "Now, we will take a fifteen minute break when the coordinators will be able to tend to their while the cleaners clear out the field. Dear performers this way to the healing area."
Harley, "Ash too?"
Ash, "Well, I am not throwing away free check ups."
Harley laughed, "Of course not, discount King."
Ash grinned as they followed the host to the healing areas, at least they were supposed to, "Something is wrong."
Harley nodded, "Yeah, excuse me lady. But aren't the healing areas in the other direction?"
Ash, "You are not the hostess."
The woman turned into a man, "Correct boys and if you don't want anything to happen to the Pokemon you left behind at the center you will quietly follow me."
Harley, "I know you. Brodie! Why are you in Jhoto?"
Brodie, "What can I say? I got interesting information and pay."
Ash, "Brodie as in Team Magma's disguise expert?"
Harley had a dark look on his face, "Afraid so."
Brodie, "It was a mutually beneficial relationship. Take them boys and girls."
