Bab 24: Visit

"I'm not mad," Carlisle spoke. His words were stable. The two of us had left breakfast and I had been stumbling over my thoughts, "So you don't need to be worried." 

Was he trying to be kind to me? I couldn't help but smile. "My precious husband is worried about me?" I asked, tilting my head and grabbing his arm. I touched him with ease now, he didn't flinch away from the contact. 

". . ." He didn't say anything. His dark eyes pierced into me as I awkwardly laughed. Had I pushed him too much? I didn't mean to cause issues, but alas, it seemed that he didn't enjoy my compliment. 

I tried to change the topic, "I'll be visiting today!" I said. Essen had mentioned it and I knew better than to ignore him twice. Richter probably had spies and he wanted to confirm with his own eyes how I was. I knew better than to try and deviate from that plan.
