Did he get it? Was that enough for a confession? He didn't know.

Surprise creased Raymond's eyebrows, but his warm eyes reflected the answer as clear as the morning dew on a grassy rice field. He wasn't emotionally inept. Raymond understood what he meant. But the way he checked their surroundings, his smile turning uneasy, planted a seed of fright in his heart.

Johan balled his fists, panic crawling on his skin, heart dropping like a boulder inside his stomach at the thought of his best friend detesting him for laying his heart out without. He reached for Raymond's arm, but hesitated to touch him. "Ray, let's... let's talk? I want to explain."
