Bab 15: Awakening of the Scourge - (3/3)

[Time skip 2 months]
[The Sleeping City]
The sun is rising from it's slumber on a normal day there would be people preparing to go to work, school, or to visit someone. There would be kids running around in front of their house or the playgrounds in the city.
Yes....on a normal day that is, however that day is not today.
When you look at the city, a city just recovered from a pandemic, is once again in distress. Smoke is rising from building, people who have black cysts yelling and attacking everything in site and people running for their lives. Their are those who have cysts and aren't moving at least not most of their body but if you look closely you can see their eyes moving seemingly panicked.
On a roof nearby you can see a young man, yes the one from two months ago. He is just staring at the site before him as he thinks about why....why did this happen again. You see two months ago his father died from this...scourge....and told him to live the best he can.
What he didn't know however is that he would spread the disease his father had without showing even a bit of the symptoms. No cysts, no muscle deterioration, and no anger issues that pop up at the slightest moment. There were no signs of what was to come, that he became the carrier of death.
It happened shortly after the funeral of his father, he shook hand and said thanks for coming and after everyone left and he said his final goodbyes went home to bed. The next day he heard that 8 of the 12 people who came suddenly started gaining cysts so they sent them to the hospital thinking it was something that could be cured either with medicine or surgery.
They discovered something far more terrifying, this was a new plague! Another new plague after the last one was cured not even 5 years ago. But that isn't all, apparently this new disease popped up in two other cities besides theirs.
Of course the government immediately called in all researcher's and doctors to help make a cure, after all they just recovered from the last one. Everyone responded of course, but sadly they were to late, those 8 people spread it to 8 more then they spread it to 10 and so on and so forth. The three cities with this plague are called the Cursed.
The young man sighed thinking about all this, thinking about all the disasters that has happened in only 4 years. But he promised his father he would survive and he would, he would be the best of the best but first he needs to survive.
[Time Skip 5 months]
The young man kept his promise, he made a group of survivors and led them out of the city into the nearby mountains and forest and started to make a base of operations. They call themselves the Blessed because of the fact that they are not affected by this disease as most are.
They are 2 times stronger then normal humans and faster, of course this doesn't mean it's easy for them to go into the city to help other survivors. They had to deal with the Scourged ones which are those who were infected and became incredibly dangerous. They had senses and reaction speed that allowed them to fight on equal ground with the Blessed ones and that meant they had to be careful and take precautions every time they went in.
This didn't mean none of them died when they went in, it was just that they tried their best to prevent that. They managed to save a total of 2000 people in the five months they've been active. The military has obviously asked for blood samples to research and find a way to make everyone immune which is was led to an amazing discovery.
The Blessed ones are infected! But they found out the virus mutated in such a way that it made them immune to other versions of this disease and even increased their muscle strength and durability! When they found this out they decided to try and find a way to spread it after thousands of tests to make sure it was safe.
[Time skip 2 years]
It's been two years since the major discovery, they have researched and researched and have discovered many things since then. One is the fact that to spread it safely they had to find a stabilizing agent which then led to them creating many versions, ones that killed, did nothing, or mutated them into monsters that were put down shortly.
They managed to create what they call [Transformation serum] which allows them to change other humans into Blessed ones with a 70% of success. Of course there are downsides when it comes to their discoveries, a couple had twins about a year ago and what they discovered horrified them about the disease.
One of the twins, a boy, had a third eye and two extra arms! After many tests they determined that the boy could use them just like normal people could use their arms and eyes without any side affects. The girl also was lucky to have a safe mutation, increased regeneration that equals up to 10 times that of a normal human! And had senses and reflexes equal to the Scourged ones! of course with all good news comes bad news.
Another couple had a son about 5 months ago and this time the mutation that happened was not good at all. The boy had bones growing out of his body everywhere! and not only that but he was already dead by the age of 3 months because the bones kept growing and growing out of him causing immense pain. The couple cried shortly after cursing the gods for taking their child.
The Cursed cities have now became 6 and not only that but the Scourged ones have begun to leave the city. They hunt right outside of it's bounds and have made the cities their nests and have even mutated a way to spread! They can now take the bodies of humans and other creatures and put them into what is essentially an egg made of congealed blood, this makes what is called a Breaker Scourge these are creatures that are just as strong as a blessed but in exchange they lose some of their senses bringing it down to only 1.5 times that of a trained human. They also got the name breakers because they love to destroy anything that's not their nest.
The world is becoming more and more dangerous everyday, but even so the blessed ones are also getting stronger through training after all the 2X human strength is just without training let alone with it.

MatrixPrime First off - sorry for making super humans essentially. You see the trait variant growth is random and unpredictable, all the blessed ones are actually the carriers of the disease. The disease mutated in a way that gave them these advantages because of two things. One is the immunity they had being carriers, this immunity evolved to make them permantly immune with the virus thats in the city including variations un the Scourged ones. Two the powers part, do you remember muscle deterioration? that essentially became the opposite but not in a harmful way, it mutated to this [Increased Muscle Strength/Durability] which does as it says
Second off - I am probs gonna end this volume at around chapter 25 - 30 maybe 20 and then take a month break from this book to think up ideas for volume two
third off - This book is mainly gonna be in the world POV because I want the readers (you) to truly understand just how dire his plagues are, of course there will be times where I make just 5 chapters in the POV of the MC.
Finally - When I finish volume 1 of plague maker I might make another book that makes an OP god MC that will create worlds. This will also mainly be World POV with some taking on the POV of the citizens and creatures, of course there will also be MC pov chaps
