"Although I do wonder why they haven't attacked us first. They have the technology, and transporting it through our gates would be possible for them. They have devices called missiles with large destructive power. It will be bad for us should they decide to use them," Lidra addressed the room, standing poised behind my father's seat. 

Lidra was my father's most trusted advisor, and because my father held prejudice against women, most of his advisors were male. The only advisor I knew by name was Lidra himself, and he'd been the one to oversee the bargain I made with my father to save Simon's life.
