Nodding with his straight face, Porum commented, "I agree. That pampered son of yours deserves a great scolding."

Aeklun sank back into his chair. A hand rested on his star-shaped nose and covered his eyes. 

"The greatest sign of a dead mine is the lack of interest from beasts and monsters… Adding that to the discovery of the plague ore, I assumed that the gold vein was either run dry or entirely out of reach. 

"But to think that not only had monsters infested the mine. A pair of Mineral Geckos and an entire Burror Rat colony were nesting there…
