Tadiwa Michael (POV)
After leaving my classroom, I hurriedly walked toward Peter’s faculty. Although the two of us were friends, we weren’t doing the same course.
I was doing architecture as I wanted to be of help one day with the family business. Although I might be lazy most of the time, I still understand that I need to help in any way possible in the future. I can’t leave this job to my brother and father alone.
Even if I can’t help in the family company, I can still start my own firm and do what I love most. Helping people to have their dream homes is something that I love the most and although the lessons get boring sometimes, I still do my best to work hard.
So that one day, I will pass with flying colors and graduate. This will make my mother proud and stop her from comparing me to Leo, that crazy lad who was book-hungry. Who studies crazily like that as if there was competition?
Peter was studying business management, so his faculty was a distance away. And since I didn’t have any class in the next two hours, I decided to search for him and see if I could pour out my heart and lessen the burden a bit.
As I walked towards the business faculty building, my eyes suddenly fixed on someone. Looking at this person from a distance and especially the way that girls were shrieking and acting as if they were rabbits in heat, the curious side of me was poked.
Who might that handsome young man be? I was curious, and I wanted to know who he was. I wasn’t interested in him in any romantic way, but as a popular person at school; I wanted to at least know when such a guy joined the school.
Why didn’t I even know of such a thing?
However, instead of walking towards this young guy who knew how to attract bees wherever he was going, I still resumed my journey to find my friend. And on the way, I took out my phone and made a call.
Ring, ring, ring. The phone rang three times before it was answered from the other side, “what’s up?”
Hearing his relaxed tone, and the noisy background, I could tell that Peter wasn’t having a lesson, and this was good for me.
“Where are you? I need to talk!” I asked as soon as I heard him.
“I am in hall 3B. You can come to this side,” Peter responded quickly.
I smiled hearing that answer, so I responded quickly as well, “I will be there in a few minutes. Just wait for me,” before hanging up.
Hall 3B was a good place, and the hall rarely had lectures done there. It was a hall where students with nothing to do would just go there, study, read, or just hang out.
This means that they won’t be disturbing anyone and that they can just talk as much as they want. And knowing that, I increased my pace as I headed toward the hall that Peter mentioned.

“Hmmm, was that Tadiwa?” Mitchel, the girl seated next to me, asked as soon as the call was hung.
I turned to face her, observing her expression at the same time. If I were to say that me and Mitchel knew each other very well, I would be lying, but I would admit that she was a hot girl. And one that loved things very much.
She had been busy following me around lately and without her saying anything, I could feel that she was interested in me, but now I was starting to wonder whether it was me that she wanted or it was my friend Tadiwa.
Tadiwa was indeed handsome and richer than me, and most girls were interested in him. Too bad the other wasn’t interested in dating as of late, so he hadn’t been taking anyone who confessed to him seriously.
And since he was out of the market, then I was probably the next good choice. Who knows?
“Hmm, it’s him. He is coming to this side,” I answered her without hiding it.
I was very curious as to what Mitchel wanted actually, and having Tadiwa with me would make me see everything that I wanted. I was hoping so after all, Mitchel was hot and a pretty one to be entangled with.
Mitchel didn’t show any reaction and just looked down at where an open book was, without saying anything.
Seeing this, I felt relieved a bit. After all, it really hurts to know that the girl you are interested in is also interested in your friend. I didn’t want to find myself in such an awkward situation; it was deadly to friendships, and I didn’t want to lose my friend because of a girl.
Girls weren’t as important, more than friends.
Since Mitchel wasn’t saying anything, I began to browse my phone going through my Facebook account just to see what was going on with my peers and all that, as I waited for Tadiwa to arrive.
Minutes later, my phone started ringing once again, and I saw Tadiwa’s name on the screen. I swiped the screen to answer the call and took a sneak glance at Mitchel whose ears were twitching, and with a glance, I could tell that the other was listening in.
I sneered inwardly, obviously dissatisfied with the way the girl was acting. What a hypocrite!
“Wait there. I will come out to you!” I said to Tadiwa as soon I answered the phone before hanging up.
After hanging up, I began to pack up my things without saying a word to Mitchel, who now looked a bit anxious with the way she was fidgeting.
Seeing that I was indeed about to leave, she grabbed the corner of my sleeve and asked hesitantly, “Peter, are you leaving already?”
Turning to face this hypocrite of a girl, I answered coldly, “Umm,” before shrugging myself away from her touch, and under her shocked gaze, I strode out of the hall.
“OMG! Did you just see that?”
“I just did! What do you think happened between those two?”
“Who cares? I am happy seeing it that way!”
I smirked as I listened to the girls' loud chattering as I walked out of the hall. Thinking back to Mitchel, I couldn’t help but think of what those girls in movies loved to say, “What do you think about that, b***?”
Hmph, trying to mess with me for benefits, she was messing with the wrong person. Did she even think that this was the first rodeo that I had experienced while being Tadiwa’s friend?
She was dreaming.
