As a machine gunner, maintaining his weapon was critically important. Hu Daoke disassembled his machine gun for cleaning, but found the task an uphill battle for a big man like himself. Seeing his struggle, Baiyue, who was nearby adjusting a scope, stepped in to help clean.

Luo'er too was busy maintaining his weapon. Although the AK series of rifles were robust and durable, they still needed upkeep. Given their shift from hills to plains for their operations, he attached a valued optical sight to the rail of his rifle and passed it to Baiyue for calibration.
