Bab 14: Chapter 14 Boar Killing Quest

Thomas began to run and chase after Lily as he said "Slow down if you get hurt your dad is gonna kill me." Lily turned around as she said, "You have to catch me first." Thomas turned around as he said, "Come on Fred if you don't hurry we're gonna get all of the boars before you do." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "We'll get there when we get there." Thomas looked at Lily as he said "Alright then we'll start without you." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Yes that's fine." Thomas turned back around and started to chase after Lily once again. As Lily stopped she looked at a field full of boars as Thomas caught up to her he asked, "Are you ready for your first quest young adventurer?" Lily unsheathed her dagger once again as she said "I'm gonna kill the most boars." Thomas looked at her as he asked "Is that a challenge?"

Lily looked at him as she said "And if it is?" Thomas looked at the boars as he said "Then you're about to lose." Lily started to charge at a boar as she said "We'll see about that." Thomas looked at her as he mumbled"A head start isn't exactly fair." Thomas unsheathed the two blades on his hips as he said "If it's a competition I won't lose." Thomas began to look at the boars as he said "Eeny meeny miny moe." Thomas looked around a boar as he said "Looks like your the lucky first if you can even call being the first to die lucky." Thomas looked at Lily as he saw a boar begin to charge at her from behind he looked at the boar he choose and said "Change of plans." Thomas began to run at the boar that was running towards Lily as he threw the dagger and hit the boar in its eye. Lily turned around to see the boar bleeding and running around with the blade still in its eye. Lily fell to the ground as Thomas kicked the boar knocking it to the ground and then pulling the blade out of its eye.

Thomas looked at Lily as he said "Remember to be careful." Lily looked at the boar he had one foot on. As Lily went to say thank you Thomas stabbed the boar once again as he said "Gotta put it down quickly to make sure it doesn't suffer." Lily looked at him as she said "I'll be more careful from now on." Thomas looked at another boar as he said "I can probably carry two or three at a time." Lily looked at the boars as she said "I almost forgot we had to carry them back." Thomas nodded as he said, "We'll have to if we want to be paid for this." Thomas looked at another boar as he asked "Can you carry one?" Lily shook her head as Thomas "Said wait here a sec." Thomas began to walk towards a tree as he felt the bark of it and said "This should do." Thomas took one of his blades and began to carve out a section of the bark after it was carved out he set it up against the tree and punched it as he said "That's durable enough." Thomas set the bark down and walked a bit further into the forest as he grabbed some vines he seen from the plains.

Once he had the vines he walked back towards the bark and poked two holes through it. After he poked the holes through he pushed the vines through each of the holes and then tied them on each side of the bark. He picked the bark up as he said "Maybe not the best way to drag around a bunch of boar bodies but it'll have to do." Thomas set the bark sled down in front of Lily as he picks up the boar's body and set it down on the bark as he told Lily "Try pulling it." Lily grabbed the vines as she began to pull the boar's body around. She looked at Thomas as she said "Now I can bring the boar's body to the capital all by myself." Thomas looked at her as he said "That's great and all but you still haven't killed any pigs." Lily looked at Thomas as she said "I know but I'm about to." Thomas lifted the boar off of the makeshift sled and set it down on the grass as he looked at Lily and said "Now then let's get back to our competition."

As Thomas said this Fredrick walked up behind them as he asked "What competition?" Thomas and Lily both looked at him as they said "We're gonna see who can get the most boars by nightfall." Fredrick looked at the two as he said "Do you mind if I participate too?" Lily looked at him as she said "Alright but your gonna lose." Thomas looked at them as he said "Ready set go." Thomas started to dash towards a boar with his daggers as Fredrick kept his distance and fired water bolts and Lily ran at the boars with her dagger while firing water bolts. Thomas looked at them as he said "Maybe I should see how many I could carry first." Once Thomas killed two boars he picked them both up as he said "These guys are pretty heavy when you carry more than one of them." Thomas looked at another boar that was near him as he said "I can carry at least one more." Thomas dropped the two dead boars as he held up his hands and castes the water bolt spell. As it hit the pig it didn't kill it but instead knocked the pig over as he cheekily said "Soggy bacon?"

Thomas watched as the pig twisted and turned as it tried to get up but before it could Thomas walked over and put a blade through its head. Thomas grabbed the boar as he tossed it over his back and put the two other boars under his arms. Thomas looked at Fredrick who had two boars killed and Lily who had one boar killed. Thomas called out to Lily and Fredrick as he said "I'll be back shortly I gotta turn these boars in." Fredrick looked at him with amazement as he said "Your gonna carry three at once?" Thomas looked at Fredrick as he said "I can't exactly carry more than this." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Those boars aren't exactly light." Thomas started to walk back towards the gate as he said "You don't have to tell me twice." As Thomas said this Lily killed another boar and put it onto the sled as she said "Wait for me I'm coming with you." Thomas looked at her as she began to pull the sled and followed Thomas. Fredrick looked at Thomas as he asked "Are you able to make another one of those sleds?"

Thomas looked at him as he said "I'll make you one when we get back." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he asked "Why didn't you make one for yourself?" Thomas started to walk towards the gate with Lily as he said "I didn't need it so theirs no point in making it." Fredrick sat down as he said, "In the meantime, I'll sit here and wait for your return." Thomas looked at Fredrick as he said "We'll be back soon." Once Thomas and Lily got to the Capital the lady behind the counter looked at them as she said "Five boars?" Lily looked at her as she asked "Can I sign up to be an adventurer?" The lady looked at her and then at Thomas as she asked "Can she?" Thomas looked at her as he asked "Why are you asking me I don't work here." The lady handed Lily the paper as she said "Name and age." Lily wrote down her name and age as she handed the lady the paper. The lady put the paper through the machine and said "Congratulations your now an adventurer."

Thomas looked at Lily as he asked "Your father isn't gonna be mad about this is he." Lily looked at him as she said "He hasn't been mad so far so we should be fine." Thomas looked at the lady as he asked "What's the point in asking for age if it doesn't matter?" The lady shrugged as she handed them, ten coppers. Thomas handed Lily her four as he said "Ready to go back and get some more?" As they went back Thomas made Fredrick a sled he could use and by the end of the day Thomas had killed and turned in a total of fifty-seven boars, Lily had a total of forty-three boars, and Fredrick had a total of forty-eight boars. After finishing the quest they went back to the inn and celebrated their first-ever quest. Lily told Jason that she registered as an adventurer and that she had killed forty-three boars. Jason congratulated her as he asked, "So what quest are you gonna do next?"
