Only Wanting To Be By Your Side

Xin Yi and Shou Yi have one particular person they cherish in life, Yu Zhen. However, Yu Zhen is forced to live a fake life as a male to appease her aging grandfather. Both people were childhood friends of Yu Zhen, but as they grew up so did their feelings.
What will happen when Yu Zhen is suddenly pulled out of both their lives?

Excerpt:
"...Both of you have given me such great love, but I couldn’t give it to just one of you. And so, I decided not to give any love at all. But the least I can do right now is just to protect you both.”

Author's Note:
This short story is written in first person and has two narrations. As you progress through the chapters you will see that each chapter is either Xin Yi or Shou Yi telling you of their interactions with Yu Zhen.
This is the first time I attempted a story like this. I'm sorry for any grammatical errors. Please enjoy!
