Bab 139: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

After extensive discussions with Du Jiahui, Wang Jingyuan decided on her next action: seeing if Shao Wenbo would make the effort to come see her. She always goes to the Shao Manor; it's only fair if he comes over to the He Manor some time too.

"I know about the unwritten rule of the imperial court where officials should not be privately forming factions. I understand that Tianhong and Wenbo-ge should be even more careful since they are both in such high positions of power. But everyone knows that they are friends, so it's not glaringly out of the ordinary for them to visit each other," Wang Jingyuan reasoned. "Besides, I go to the Shao Manor all the time. If there were people watching the two residences, they should know that it's just a private matter between Shao Wenbo and me."

"Makes sense," agreed Du Jiahui. "Will you tell Shao Wenbo that you won't be going over to his place anymore, or…?"
