Alex ran through the city. He was wearing a white marine cap and basic marine uniform with black boots that ended at his mid calf. He had made the boots for himself and they had metal in the heels and toes to increase the power of his kicks.
Alex pulled two white gloves out of his pockets with studs of hard metals on the knuckles. He was eager to start making more new things in the marine's base, this place was like a dream! It was a top of the line workshop, lab, and anything else he could ever want to use.
They also had a near infinite supply of all the best materials that could be used. Obviously Alex wasn't just allowed to use anything he wanted, but he was able to get a pretty decent amount of access and materials considering he had the marine hero's backing.
Not only that, but they had a crazy big library here! Apparently there was even a restricted section with books on the 6 powers, but Alex hadn't found those yet.
He finally made it to the lab and said hello to everyone. Over the last few days that he had been here they had all gotten to know him. He was also one of the best in the building half the time! This kid seemed to have magic hands! He could fix up anything and soaked up knowledge at an inhumane speed. Some people were even beginning to compare him to Vegapunk and Judge Vinsmoke!
Alex didn't really care as he was just content to be learning all these new things as well as making blueprints for his own creations.
He came here every single day after Garp was finished abusin- ahem - training him. He had started to learn from the scientists about things and even got to see some of Dr. Vegapunk's inventions that the marines had in their possession.
He had begun to become a very respectable scientist, while also keeping up with Garp's harsh training everyday.
Alex would often complain about how Garp didn't train them, but just beat them up. Shanks laughed at him because he was used to receiving the same treatment from Roger.
Dragon would join them everyday, but didn't talk much… he was a very quiet and serious person. Though, he did have a few conversions with Dragon about politics and ethics. It got pretty deep and philosophical. After those talks Alex felt like Dragon was a lot less grumpy around him and Shanks.
Alex shrugged, maybe he was just an edgy guy. Enjoyed complaining about the marines and the government but wouldn't ever do anything about it. Alex sighed, if he was gonna complain this much, maybe he should just rebel or something.
Anyway, Dragon aside, Buggy was … trying. Alex actually almost started to feel bad for the guy. Almost. He might have if it wasn't so funny to watch him fail all the time!
Just like that another peaceful two months passed. Everyone had gotten stronger under Garp's cruel yet efficient training. Alex had become the head chef of the Monkey family after Garp and Dragon once ate some of his leftovers and realized it was just as good as professional chef's food. And those were his leftovers! Just imagine how good the real food was!
Alex had been forced into taking on an endless number of tasks. He was constantly nagged by the marine's scientists for help with projects while sometimes the medicinal staff would get his advice on patients. Alex even developed a new type of medicine, it was a weak cure-all concoction. Basically, if you drank it or applied it to a wound, it could work to cure it. Although it was very weak and only worked on things on the same level of a paper cut, it was nonetheless impressive.
Alex was actually making quite a name for himself as a genius boy.
Alex was happy with his progress on his quest to become the smartest person in the world.
This morning, Alex was drinking some tea that he had brewed and reading the newspaper. He got to a certain section before spitting his drink out. It ended up drenching Buggy who was sitting next to him.
Dragon looked over his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
Alex pointed at the newspaper. "This, this is big news."
Dragon started reading the titles out loud. "100 tips to look 10 years younger… What's new with Justin and Hailey… Sun pirates, a new threat from the depths?... New rising star bounty hunter in the West Blue, Mihawk… 100 reasons why pirates are evil… Local marine saves a young girl… 101 reasons why the world nobles are the best… The fallen nobles, hear all about the Donquixote family…" Dragon paused when he looked at the title Alex was pointing at and smirked.
"Deadly pirate alliance, decimates 2 marine bases. Doesn't steal a single belli. What is their goal?" Dragon said.
Garp looked over Alex's other shoulder and looked at the two bounty posters. "Bwahahahaha! I wish I could see Sengoku's face!"
Alex smiled and ran upstairs to show Shanks.
The two laughed when they saw the two bounty's underneath the article.
Edward 'Whitebeard' Newgate
Wanted Dead or Alive
$2,150,000,000
Gold Roger
Wanted Dead or Alive
$2,000,000,000
Alex looked down at the bounties and laughed. "Pops is the best! Ahahaha!"
Shanks clicked his tongue. "That's just because he can smash things easier! Captain would win in a fight!"
"No, Pops would kick that geezers ass!"
The two boys butt heads before breaking into a dust brawl.
They were interrupted by a booming voice that shook half of marineford.
"GARP!! WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
