Chapter 35: Jungle trip
"Look, I told you. Someone was here before!. It wasn't a dream!" Usopp pointed at the ship.
"Someone fixed the Going Merry!"
They all looked around. The priest wasn't able to cause that much damage. But there were a few holes on the deck, a lot of burned wood, and the rails were mostly gone. Without mentioning the damage that was done to the ship while riding the knock-up stream.
The ' mysterious carpenter' seemed to have patched a lot of the damage.
"You are right, the rails have been reattached…more or less and the holes have been covered." Nami examined the reparations.
"Yeah…whoever did this wasn't very good it…" Commented Sanji.
Vivi felt a pang of sadness as she looked at the ship. She knew that no matter how much it was repaired at this point, it would not be enough to save it. The keel was probably already damaged beyond repair since the trip here.
'Sorry Merry'
"I thought I saw a ghost last night…" Said Usopp. Then He told the story of his encounter with Merry spirit.

"Alright, gather up!" Ordered Nami.
She placed a map of the island in front of them.
"This is the explorer team route: a straight line to the south"
Nami put her finger in a specific spot on the map.
"In this 'right eye' place is where the treasure is supposed to be located. There should be a ruin there. So… watch out for enemies and bring me- I mean bring us the gold back!"
"You are making it sound easy…." Said Usopp.
"You keep saying gold this and gold that. But in the end, you're not going to get the gold yourself." Mentioned Luffy.
"Of course not! It's scary!"
She pointed again at the map.
"Anyways. At the same time, the 'ship team' will navigate around the island until we reach the coast over here. We will, land on shore as close as possible. Once you guys have the gold, come to the ship and we all leave this hellish place as rich pirates!"
"Yeah!!" The crew was enthusiastic at the idea.
"Alright!"
"Let's go!"

It was decided that the 'explorers team' will be composed of Luffy, Zoro, Robin, Chopper, and Vivi.
"Zoro! You are going the wrong way! The west is this way!" Luffy yelled at his first mate.
"Oi, Luffy! Do you even listen to others?, Nami said its skull rights eye. So it's to the right. The right is this way!" Zoro pointed to his right.
"Zoro, that's not how you read a map…" Said Vivi with exasperation, this was not the first time they were doing this.
"Could you tell them that we are going south? which is this way." Robin pointed in a diferent direction.
"Sure!" Said Chopper.

"Oh, It was south then! You guys could have told me sooner." Luffy commented nonchalantly.
"At first I was a bit worried that the forest would be very dangerous. But now I think there is nothing to worry about." Chopper said happily.
"That's the attitude Chopper. You are being very brave today." Luffy said.
"It's a bit depressing actually. Yesterday I didn't find anything interesting either. Not even a priest like the one you fought." Zoro looked a bit depressed.
"You really want something to happen that badly, how strange…" Robin could not understand Zoro's attitude.
"I had enough excitement for one trip. So I'm fine if nothing else happens." Said Vivi.
'Not that there is a chance of nothing happening at this point.'
They then heard a tremendously loud hiss and when they rose their heads, there was a colossal snake looking at them with hungry eyes.
'Of course…' Thought Vivi.
"Ran away! it's a snake!" Their Captain screamed.
"Hey, big guy. I'm going to cut you in half. " Zoro pulled out one of his swords.
Then snake hissed and charged at them. They all moved away and the snake ended up biting one of the many trees around the area.
"How can it move so fast with a body like that?" Wondered Zoro.
The snake removed its mouth from the tree, leaving behind a gooey green substance that started to dissolve the trunk of the tree at a fast pace.
"What kind of venom is that?" Robin looked worried.
"Maybe we should retreat for now…" Said Zoro.
"Agree, let's get away from that thing, please." Vivi has never liked snakes, they make her skin crawl, and being so close to one that was big enough to choke King Kong was not helping.
"Yoo snake follow me! Your food is getting away!" Luffy tried to bait the snake away from the rest.
The snake instead ignored him and attacked Robin.
"Careful Robin!" Yelled Vivi.
"Five-Wheel-Fleur." Robin created a rope with her ability and moved away before she was eaten.
"Watch out!" Warned Zoro.
The snake then went for Vivi next. She used her 'propeller technique' to fly away to safety.
'Do I need to give them names?'
After moving a good distance and realizing that the snake was not following her anymore, Vivi stopped on a nearby tree and looked around.
'They must have all run in different directions…this is bad.'
But just then, she spotted Zoro who had just stopped running.
"Zoro!" Vivi called as she descended from the tree.
"Oh? well, at least one didn't get lost." Zoro sighed.
'You are really talking about getting lost?...'
"I don't know where the other ones went. Should we look for them?." Asked Vivi.
"Don't worry too much. They can take care of themselves. Well… I'm a bit worried about Chopper." Admitted Zoro.
They started to walk at a brief pace again and Vivi started to look around, wondering if they were going in the right direction.
'As much as I would like to make fun of Zoro for his complete lack of directional sense, the truth is that I'm terrible too. If it wasn't for the GPS on my phone I have never been able to get anywhere.'
She at least had some sense of relief from the fact that even if they got lost, she felt a lot safer with Zoro at her side.
"Hey, Zoro. Let's make sure to stay togh-" Zoro was just a few feet ahead of her a moment ago but now He had just disappeared.
"He got lost already!" She cried.
