Bab 25: Training at Sea

Merry's Revenge sailed onward, and the tension from our brush with Mihawk slowly eased, replaced by a growing anticipation. The open sea lay ahead, and each day, we got closer to the Reverse Mountain—and ultimately, the North Blue. The thought of the dangers we'd face stirred something within me, and I knew the crew would need every skill we could get if we were going to make it out there alive.

As the sun rose over calm waves one morning, I called everyone to the large table on the main deck.

"Alright, everyone," I started a grin. "It's time we get serious. The North Blue's no joke; things will only get harder when we get there. I heard a rumor that the north is the most dangerous of all the four seas. We will train on the sea around the Red Line for a week."

Carmen raised an arched eyebrow, her hands on her hips. "Husband, I think we're already well aware of the dangers. You've mentioned that every time, even during our sexy time."

"True," I replied, nodding. "But this time, we need more than just devil fruit powers and weapons. We need something more potent. Something everybody in the New World has, we need to master Haki."

That caught their attention. Kaya tilted her head, curiosity shining in her large, soft brown eyes. "Haki?"

I smiled. "Yes, haki. Haki is a power that's kind of like a heightened sixth sense. It allows us to sense things others can't and strengthen our attacks and defenses," I turned to Aerwyna. "Aerwyna here is an expert in Armament Haki, a branch of Haki focused on enhancing one's attack and defense. I know Observation Haki, a branch of Haki that focuses on your senses. I thought maybe we could all try to learn together. If you can't master it within a month, don't be discouraged. We will stay in a place where nobody would ever step foot in North Blue," I said the last word while looking pointedly at Kaya.

Aerwyna nodded. "I'd be happy to help with Armament Haki training, but beware; I considered my training method quite extreme."

"Perfect," I said, looking around at the crew. "And I'll take on teaching Observation Haki."

"Sounds like a plan," Nojiko said, her calm demeanor steady. "The more prepared we are, the better." The tattoo above her boobs peeking, making me almost lose focus. Behave, dick! Behave!

Bellemere leaned back, crossing her arms with a grin. "Funny you should mention this now. I might not know this Haki thing, but I know a few techniques from my Marine days."

Bellemere finished her words by stepping on the air, her lithe and sexy body floating above Merry's Revenge; I looked at her with giddiness; the more technique in our arsenal, the better.

Bellemere landed in front of me with her smirk. She puffed a cigarette and messed with my curly hair. "You speak about training seriously, but now your eyes are on this old body. Make up your mind, brat."

"I didn't know you could do that, Mom. What other secret do you hide from me?" Nojiko's calm demeanor crumbled when she saw her brash Mom doing something extraordinary.

Bellemere only looked at her daughter with her patented smirk; inhaling her cigarette, she said," I know tekkai as well." Her gaze fleetingly flew to Aerwyna, who stiffened in place.

Sham looked confused; her heart-shaped face scrunched up. "Wait, Geppo? Tekkai? What are those? That sounds like a made-up name."

Bellemere chuckled. "Geppo lets you step on the air as I showed you. Tekkai hardens your body, making it tougher to take hits. That's how I survived Arlong's attempt to kill me." A dark expression shrouded her sharp and symmetrical face. Again, I felt Aerwyna's shoulder stiffened. After a day away from Loguetown, Aerwyna wore her daily attire: A sleeveless, backless yukata-like robe that hugged her curvy body like a perfect wrap. Her basketball-sized rack jutted out proudly, a hint of the sun tattoo visible on her back.

"Oh, I know a trick, too!" Sham exclaimed, her face lighting up. "I called it the flash step version number two. Do you want to see it, Captain?"

"Mi Dio, the cat servant, doesn't have a good naming sense. What did I expect?" Carmen dramatically touched her forehead.

"What did you say, Loony Cook!?"

Sham disappeared and appeared behind Carmen. She tackled Carmen from her seat. Both of them were fighting on the deck. I could hear the sound of sizzling and tearing on the main deck. These two untamable heathens were too much to handle sometimes.

Bellemere raised an eyebrow. "That looked an awful lot like Soru."

I threw a sticky-net compact bomb to the fighting duo. It was the enhanced version of my sticky net bomb, which I called sticky net version two. Sham and Carmen sprawled on the deck floor, my sticky net wrapped around their body, fastening them, making both of them look like an accomplished bondage model.

Their faces flushed red, their breath quickened, but at least they stopped fighting.

"Now, Sham. Can you please tell us how you discovered Soru?" I asked the messy, cat-obsessed girl.

As a note, I knew the theory: You must quickly step the ground ten times in a row, but most theories are easier said than done. I couldn't replicate it.

Sham nodded proudly. She looked comical in her jet-black catwoman outfit, with her hands and feet raised to her back tied by my sticky net, explaining her Soru technique. "Yep! You go, uh, 'Kabam!'" She attempted to move her tied foot enthusiastically. "Then you feel this kind of… 'cuk cuk cuk' in your belly, and bam! You're moving faster than a blink."

The entire crew laughed; Carmen's laugh was loud, and a tear appeared from her vibrant pink eyes. "Kabam and 'cuk cuk cuk'," she managed, shaking her head. "I'll have to remember that for the next time. Cahahaha! I want to vanish into thin air; Cahahaha! What did you expect from a lazy cat servant, Cahahaha."

Sham's metal claws gleamed on her hand; she bared her sharp fangs. "Laugh all you want, Lonny cook; at least I can control my power!"

"Alright, alright," I said, restraining Sham and Carmen, who started burning and slashing my sticky net. "If Sham can pull off Soru with a bit of 'kabam' and 'cuk cuk cuk,' maybe we've all got a chance with Haki."

On our journey to Reverse Mountain, I started to train Observation Haki, guiding everyone through sensing each other's presence with eyes closed by a dark cover. "Observation Haki is all about feeling what's around you," I explained. "It's like… you don't need to see someone to know they're there. You can also feel their intention and what they wanted to do to you during a battle so that you can anticipate their movements."

Kaya closed her eyes, furrowing her brow. "Like… an instinct when we are in danger?"

"I couldn't say that you're correct, but almost," I said, feeling a swell of pride. "The more you practice, the clearer it becomes, the more accurate your predictions will be."

Meanwhile, Aerwyna took over with Armament Haki after I finished mine. "Armament Haki is about strengthening your body," she explained. "It's an invisible armor, but it's also a will. You're willing to put your power into your body for attack or defense."

Bellemere swung her gun at Aerwyna with absolute ferocity, and to everyone's awe, Aerwyna's arm turned pitch black, deflecting the weapon easily; I could see some dents on the precious custom-made gun I gave Bellemere.

Carmen's flamboyant tone was a bit more subdued, but the visible crimson glow on her body and eyes signified her excitement. She asked, "And how exactly does one want their body to armor up?"

Aerwyna smiled. "It's like clenching your muscles, but you focus your will to survive to the surface instead of muscle. Imagine hardening yourself—both body and spirit but with your will."

"Yeah, see," Kaya said with a grin. "Or, as Sham would say, add a bit of 'cuk cuk cuk' for good measure."

Sham rolled her eyes. "Everyone's a critic now."

Over the next few days, we trained hard. Kaya quickly caught on to Observation Haki's theory on the fourth day, managing to sense when I moved around the deck to attack her. It was slow but an improvement nonetheless.  Nojiko's focus was unwavering, and I had no doubt she would awaken it with proper training. Bellemere, Carmen, and Sham were steadily training their physic, attempting to awaken Armament Haki under Aerwyna's guidance by punching a hard Coral Aerwyna acquired from the bottom of the ocean or fighting each other. However, Carmen's burst of uncontrolled fire sometimes got in the way.

One night, as we all sat around the deck, exhausted but exhilarated, we would celebrate by having sex. Sometimes it was a foursome with Kaya's, Sham's, Carmen's, and Nokiko's juicy asses sticking out to me; they were stacked up together like a four-pack sandwich; I would fuck the bottom with my dick and the uppermost with my long nose.

At other times Aerwyna's six hands would roam my nipples, her two other hands would tussle my hair, and we fucked in the open Ocean.

Some other time I would fuck the Mother-Daughter duo because I love Oyakodon.

The sex and training went on until, on the sixth day, I destroyed my thirtieth coral with my punch without any noticeable blackness on my hands. I tried to simulate those feelings where I could sense myself coating my bolt while fighting Arlong with no successful result.

I punched more in frustration before I sensed Kaya's minty ginger and Nojiko's flowery smell coming my way. I greeted them with a smile, hiding my frustration.

"Usopp," Kaya said softly, approaching me, her voice tinged with excitement. "I'll show you something I've concocted these past few days."

"I also wanted to give you something, Cap," Nojiko added, her voice calm but resolute. She brought out the devil fruit she got from Loguetown. "This is our thanks to you for saving Cocoyashi."

I gazed at the green-colored devil fruit on Nojiko's offered hands. The sight was mesmerizing, as if the devil fruit had tempted me to bite it.

"No, Nojiko. That fruit is yours. It doesn't choose me; one thing about devil fruit is that you can unleash their full potential. If the fruit chose you, and it chose you, you have to eat it."

I saw a relieved but hesitant expression on her striking, symmetrical face. She wanted the fruit but also wanted to repay me.

"Eat it, now," I told her, brushing stray blue hair on her oval-shaped face.

Nojiko smiled, looking at me. "Thank you, Cap."

She ate the fruit before she regretted it.
