"Thank you so much! Are you truly the grandson of the Marine hero, Garp?" The villagers looked at Luffy with admiration.
He had overheard the cries of the pirates before their downfall.
"Yes, I am his grandson. But please keep it a secret," Luffy replied, his voice low. "Who knows? Some really nasty pirates might come after me..."
He couldn't be too cautious—Z could defeat any foe but had lost his entire family to ruthless pirates. It was a harsh lesson learned.
"That's amazing! I can't believe he's the grandson of a hero!" The villagers cheered, interrupting Luffy before he could finish, not seeming to notice his cautionary words.
Uta recorded the scene, sighing softly. "These third-rate pirates really made everyone suffer."
Belmer smiled but said nothing. Given that Uta was a pirate's daughter, she refrained from making harsh comments about pirates. She knew Uta was a kind-hearted girl, regardless of her father's past.
"Aren't all pirates the same?" Nojiko asked. "I've never heard of any 'good' pirates."
"Not true! Shanks is nothing like that," Uta retorted proudly. "The Red-Haired Pirates protect the weak!"
"Wait a minute… Are you the Songstress, Uta?" a villager asked, recognizing her voice.
"Oh, you know me?" Uta blinked, surprised as she looked at the villager. She couldn't recall meeting him before.
"I recently got a new Den Den Mushi and was lucky enough to hear your songs. They were so beautiful! I even left a message, but I wasn't sure if you'd see it. Your voice is unforgettable…" The villager's words sparked excitement among others who had heard her music.
"It's her—it's really Uta, the Songstress! I can't believe someone so young could sing such moving songs!" Soon, the crowd surrounding Luffy shifted their focus to Uta, captivated by her.
For the first time, Uta found herself overwhelmed, surrounded by enthusiastic fans who had heard her sing.
"Wow, Uta's already famous?" Nami said, amazed.
"Well, Nami's on her way to becoming a top-notch navigator herself," Luffy replied.
"Yeah, that's right!" Nami nodded proudly.
"You guys all have such grand dreams. I have no idea what I want to do," Nojiko sighed. As the eldest, her only plan had been to protect Nami and the orange grove. But now, that seemed less significant.
"There's nothing wrong with that," Luffy said. "People without a specific goal are free to try all kinds of interesting things."
"No, I want to do something meaningful too! I'll learn to cook and win all your hearts through food, just like Belmer," Nojiko declared with a laugh.
Luffy made his way through the crowd, gently pulling Uta out from the circle of fans. "Alright, everyone! It's time to rebuild the village. We have to continue our journey."
With supplies replenished, they didn't need to stay.
"Thank you all once again!" The villagers bowed in gratitude.
As the ship set sail, the seagull flag fluttered in the wind.
"So, how was it? Meeting your fans in person for the first time?" Luffy asked, curious.
"It was amazing! Such a pleasant surprise!" Uta beamed, her enthusiasm obvious. Her twin strands of hair even perked up like rabbit ears. "My music has already captured their hearts!"
"Your songs make people happy!" Luffy agreed.
"I've decided! I'm going to hold a concert, starting on the next island!" Uta announced with renewed energy.
"Luffy, help me! I need more songs!" She looked at him with a pleading gaze, clinging to his arm.
Luffy felt his resolve waver. "I'm… not very good at that stuff…"
"Don't worry! We'll create songs together. I'll polish up whatever you come up with."
Luffy turned his head, trying not to look directly at her. He had already been won over by her charm twice; she had a way of making him vulnerable. Her voice alone could sway his emotions.
"Wait… Luffy can write songs?" Nami asked, surprised.
"You're only realizing that now? Nami, you can be so slow sometimes. Uta's channel clearly mentioned that two of her songs were collaborations with Luffy," Nojiko sighed.
"I was too focused on the music to notice that!"
"Both Luffy and I studied in Elegia. I studied music, and he studied art," Uta explained.
"The legendary music country? No wonder the music you create is so special," Belmer said, now understanding. That was why these two were so artistically talented.
After all, Elegia was renowned for music, much like Drum Island was famous for medicine. These places were considered hubs for specific disciplines.
Three days later, they spotted a new island on the horizon. Nami eagerly grabbed Uta's hand. "Uta, is this where you'll have your first concert?"
"What's the name of this island?" Uta asked, staring out at it.
Nami pulled out a map. "It's called Bear Paw Island."
"The shape does look like a bear's paw—a round island with five towering mountains..."
Then, Nami noticed a note on the map: Bear Paw Island is inhabited by the Bear Paw Tribe, a dangerous, cannibalistic tribe.
"Oh no! The island has primitive cannibals! Maybe we should skip it and find another place," Nami suggested, worried.
"No, I want to see if my songs can reach even a tribe like this!" Uta said excitedly.
"Wait, that's dangerous! They might actually eat us…"
"Luffy will protect us!" Uta flashed a confident smile, unconcerned.
"It's not that I doubt Luffy. I just want to avoid unnecessary trouble…" Nami sighed.
"Alright, then! Let's land!" Luffy announced.
They docked at the edge of a large, wild island, its five mountainous peaks towering over the dense jungle.
As Luffy prepared to disembark, he looked over at the girls.
"Nami, Uta, Nojiko—you're all wearing too much revealing stuff! Change into something less exposed."
