"Kenwi, kunwi, kunwi ay at taddart tesɛam lɣella. Kra n wayen i teḥwaǧ tkebbanit-nneɣ. Efket-t u sellkem iman-nwen." What the hell are they talking about? I looked around and realized I was in a prison. Did I get caught?
A figure suddenly appeared before me. "Mmeslay!" he shouted.
"Afellaḥ n uɛebbuḍ!" He raised his fist.
"Mmeslay… Afellaḥ n uɛebbuḍ," I mumbled, struggling to mimic the sounds. But then, the cries of real seagulls brought me back to my senses.
My stomach growled. "Shit," I muttered, rubbing my gut.
"Back to Loguetown it is," I said to myself, spinning the wheel.
After an hour of aimless sailing, the silhouette of a town finally emerged on the horizon—presumably Loguetown. I was in dire need of money, so I searched the boat once more. There was some rope that I could sell to a general vendor. It wasn't much, but it was something.
Suddenly, I saw a much larger ship approaching. The flag atop the ship was familiar—I'd seen it during my time in prison. It belonged to some infamous pirate... Caker? Claker? I couldn't remember his name, but his bounty was massive, and he was extremely dangerous.
As the ship tilted towards me and started closing in, I knew I couldn't outrun them.
They came to a halt alongside my ship, and a man with an eyepatch and a typical pirate outfit shouted at me. "Oi oi! You wanna pay a toll for circling these waters, or do you wanna lose your entire boat?"
"Listen here, fellers, I don't have money on me right now, so if you can just excuse me this one time, I would be grateful," I told them, not expecting much mercy. I was pretty sure they were going to try to mess me up. Yeah, I was dead.
"Boys, kill that guy! I wanna make an example of what happens if you don't pay the 'Clarke Tax'," Clarke ordered his crew. Fuck! I needed to fight, but I wasn't sure I was strong enough.
The crew erupted into laughter as Clarke gave the order, their weapons drawn. My hand went to the revolver at my side. My memory was hazy, but I wasn't a stranger to this kind of fight. I watched the Fuuma guy beat the Sea King a thousand times.
The first pirate leapt onto my boat, swinging a rusted dagger. My body moved before my brain caught up. I sidestepped the attack, drew my revolver, and fired. The pirate fell, a hole in his head. I was surprised by my reflexes.
I didn't have enough space to manoeuvre on my small boat. I needed to get onto their ship to have more room to fight.
"Leave my boat the fuck alone, and I'll spare ya' sorry arse!" I shouted to Clarke, he wasn't very happy about my statement.
Clarke's face curled into a snarl. "You think you can threaten me, boy? Get him!"
More pirates began to board my boat. I fired my revolver again, taking down another pirate, but they kept coming. I knew I couldn't hold them off forever. I needed a plan. I took my shotgun and quickly shot another pirate. They were momentarily stunned as another one fell.
I glanced around, my eyes landed on the rope I had found earlier. I grabbed the rope and quickly tied one end to the mast of my boat. With the other end in hand, I leapt onto the pirate ship.
Clarke watched from the deck. "None of this would have happened if you just gave me the goddamn money!" he swung his sword which I missed by an inch. I took my revolver and shot him in the leg, I needed to get him alive to get more profits.
Clarke stumbled, and I took the chance to deliver a powerful punch to his jaw. *BOOM* He flew away, metres away at blitzing speed. Am I that strong? Damn... what did this feller eat?
I was out of ammo on my revolver but fully loaded on my rifle and pistol. I had to buy the ammunition after a while.
Clarke's crew watched in shock as their leader was sent flying. They hesitated, unsure of what to do next.
With my revolver out of ammo, I switched to my rifle, keeping an eye on the remaining pirates.
The pirates exchanged nervous glances. They began to retreat, realizing that they stood no chance. After all, they weren't that strong a crew, they had their captain and their numbers. I watched them go, my grip on the rifle tightening. I needed to find a way to restock my ammunition.
Now, I need to collect the bounty. I walked over to Clarke and crouched. Poor guy. I didn't think he would be beaten so quickly. How did he get that much bounty? I slapped him back to consciousness.
"Ah!" He guarded himself with his arms.
"Listen here, show me the way to your treasury," I said, pointing my rifle at Clarke.
Clarke groaned, still clutching his leg where I had shot him. "You... you sick fuck!" he spat, wincing in pain. "Fine, fine! It's below deck, don't ya dare shoot me again."
"Good choice," I muttered, grabbing his collar and dragging him along. I didn't trust leaving him behind—he'd probably try something stupid.
Once on the pirate ship, I made my way down to the lower deck, Clarke stumbling beside me. The place smelled like seawater, rum, and unwashed clothes. Pirates lived up to their reputation.
"Over there," Clarke grumbled, nodding toward a reinforced door at the back.
I kicked it open with little effort. Stacks of gold coins, jewels, and other treasures gleamed in the dim light.
"Why? That's very good, I like it!" I said, grinning. I grabbed a nearby sack and started shovelling as much loot as I could fit. Clarke just sat there, muttering curses under his breath.
When the sack was full, I stood up, slinging it over my shoulder. "Looks like I'm done here. Thanks for your donation, Clarke."
"You'll regret this," he snarled, glaring at me. "When my crew finds you, you're dead."
I dragged Clarke back up to the deck, tying him to the ship's mast. I wasn't going to kill him—I needed to claim his bounty.
Loguetown... I can finally eat some food, I'm starving and this bitch didn't even get some food along, how the fuck is he a pirate?
A few minutes later... "Finally. Holy shit! That felt long." I jumped out of the ship. I quickly spotted a restaurant nearby. Quite big, I suppose. I held the bag of money and walked over to the restaurant.
I was stopped from goin' inside, "Listen here, boy, this place ain't for folk like you. Get outta here, before I make you."
"I have the money," I told him, but he just scoffed. "Just get outta here."
Fucking idiots, once I become some bigshot guy, the things I'd do to these types of guys. Damn it!
I just pushed him off lightly and went into the restaurant, suddenly, I heard a loud noise outside, some piece of wood breaking.
Whatever, I don't care, I sat down at my table when the watchman from before barged in.
PLEASE JUST LET ME EAT!
