Bab 26: MAGIC
Since Mino arrived in this world, a lot has happened. There are some things that my brain simply cannot handle. "You can read his mind?" uncle remarked, surprised, as we ate together at the table. Mino went to clean himself in the river.
He had previously left me perplexed as I had not told him about my experience. "Yes, uncle, but it also vanished suddenly," I replied quickly to him, and he frowned. "That's strange!" he exclaimed right away. "I don't know what to say or think either, whatever is going on," I muttered, irritated since it added to my confusion.
"Perhaps it's also a good thing so we can find out what's on his mind," uncle stated coldly as he drank from the cup in front of him. "Vreihya, I sense that he won't be at his full potential until he accepts himself as he is now," he said thoughtfully, and I gently nodded.
"But what can we do, uncle? The acceptance must come from him and no one else," I gently explained. "Sometimes the only way a person can accept something is to learn how to love it," uncle replied, and I glanced at him. I see what he's saying! We're back to the concept that I have to make him love me.
"It's difficult for me to do what you're making me do, uncle; you understand how important love is to me," I swiftly explained. "You don't have to fall in love, Vreihya; your life is at stake, and I think that's reason enough for you to think about it," uncle said.
I was immediately shaken by his advise because it appears that I am no different from Mino as he is solely obeying and training in order to follow the Goddess's wishes and return home, whereas I would make him fall for me for my own sake too.
"I know what it's like for a man to fall in love, Vreihya," he said gently, as if he didn't want me to hear it. I was taken aback and stared at him. "How can you know that uncle? I've never seen you fall in love, and no lady has ever been close to you besides mother and I," I said, and he shook his head.
"Silly! Not me, of course," uncle laughed, because he must have thought it's impossible for him to fall in love.
"Then who?" I quickly inquired. "Your parents, Vreihya," He said softly, causing me to smile since the sweetest love tale I'd ever heard flashed to me again. "I've told you many times how I tortured your father so he could prove his love to your mother," he laughed, and I nodded gratefully.
"Your father's hard work to make Zaliah fall in love isn't a farce either," uncle added gleefully, recalling stories I'd heard since I was a little girl.
"No wonder you're selective with men who approach you even when you're young," uncle said thoughtfully. "When you heard that kind of love, uncle, your perspective of true love will really broaden and deepen," I told him right away.
"That's why it pains me Vreihya that you don't get that genuine affection because fate is mischievous," he added solemnly, and our joyous chat was abruptly silenced.
Uncle is correct. Because of this occurrence in my life, I will never know love the way my parents did. Who wants to impose himself on their mate? Who wants to push someone to fall in love with them and receive no love in return?
"But this is all you have to think about Vreihya, probably why you were given this kind of problem in life because fate knows that you are the only one strong enough to face them," uncle responded gently with a light smile. Making him looked even more stunning, so I really wonder why he never prefer even a single woman queuing just for him.
After a few minutes, we both bid our goodbyes. Uncle is resting while I am here, crossing the road towards the river. Mino has been residing there for a time now, and I'm curious what he's up to. I could see him below a few minutes later since I was standing on the high cliff where he had previously fallen.
I just sat here looking down at him swimming freely. The bruises on his back didn't escape my sight, but they were to be expected in a combat. I blinked quickly because I suddenly remembered a medical herb that I could use to quickly cure his bruises.
I immediately stood up from where I was sitting, and as I was about to walk, my eyes opened as a tremendous gust of wind pushed me.
I immediately lost my balance and fell from where I was standing as a result of its impact. "UNCLEEE!" I said angrily, knowing he was the one who had caused this, and I immediately waved my hand, hoping a large vine would catch me, but I descended too quickly. My abrupt descent was followed by the embrace of the chilly water. I'm going to make you pay for this uncle!
I swam to the surface right away because I felt like I wanted to choke uncle out of annoyance. When my head was on the surface, I was taken aback since Mino was frowning at me. "What?" I asked frankly in response to his stare. "What an awful dive!" he mocks me, which causes me to stare at him.
"You should have told me if you wanted to take a bath together, princess, I will gladly allow you to join me," he remarked in front of me, and I quickly fixed my gaze on him. It appears that a mortal is mocking me! Is he looking for another fight?
"Who do you think you are that I will ask to take a bath with you?" I asked frankly, and he sneered. "Then what? Are you glaring at me? Can't you handle it any longer?" his arrogant words, and my chest felt like it was ready to explode. In my irritation, I yanked his hair and dunked his face underwater before releasing it. I swiftly turned away from him and headed to the riverbank.
I felt his presence behind me as I stood up and straightened my now clinging garments. I instantly faced him when he took up his upper clothing to wear.
"Stop what you're doing right now," I told him as I examined his bruises. He turned to face me with a frown. I don't know what's on his thoughts because I can't read it like before, but I know he doesn't get me. "What was your trip, princess? You've been acting strange for a while now!" he says coldly to me.
"We'll treat your bruises!" I yelled angrily, but he didn't listen and swiftly wore his clothing, turned his back on me, and began walking. To relax myself, I closed my eyes and breathed rapidly. Woah! He's really arrogant!
I wasted no time and, utilizing my speed, seized his left hand and hauled him away. He suddenly let go of my grip and held his stomach and mouth as if about to puke.
A triumphant smile returned to my lips, as I was once again exacting revenge for him as he irritates me. "Just one more! I'm going to electrocute you!" he threatened me as he struggled to balance his standing due to dizziness.
Due to dizziness, he sat down and leaned against a tree, closing his eyes. I looked up quickly to saw the flowers above the tree that was my objective. A vine crept up the tree at my command and plucked a cluster of flowers that I need.
It crawled down and handed the flowers to me right away. After taking a flower from the bunch and inserting it in the side of my ear, I immediately smiled and caressed the vine.
"She is extremely beautiful when she does that!" I looked at Mino, who instantly closed his eyes so I wouldn't know he was staring at me, and I'm not sure why I read his thoughts again. Because of what I heard from his mind, my heart immediately softened and throb widely.
I'm not sure, but what I heard has made my throat feel dry. Entrante! I attempted to relax my chest and moved slowly in his direction, trying to stop my hands from shaking.
It was only a few words from his mind, yet my heart seemed to be soothed. "Please don't come near me, your lovely fragrance may drive me insane!" I heard those words again in his thoughts and immediately felt my knees wobble and it appeared that I am losing my balance, so that when I step, it felt that I would tumble.
I noticed how swiftly he opened his eyes and crossed our distance and in a matter of seconds, I was locked with his warm embrace once again, catching me from falling as my knees became traitors.
Entrante! I was immediately cemented since he held me in his arms again as what I heard from him continued replaying in my mind. "What is wrong with you, princess?" his annoyed query as my heart clenched with a peculiar feeling.
Vreihya, those are mere words! Don't be deceived! Maintain your composure! This should have no effect on you. "It appears like magic was used on me," I murmured, perplexed, to him, who simply frown. "What magic?" his mind asked again.
Mino, you are the cause of this magic. This is your magic! And I can't just let this magic work on me all of the time!
