Bab 2: Training and Preparation.

Fencing club room, Yun Hua University.

In the brightly lit room, a young man, wield wooden sword. The man's eyes were filled with a look of determination. It has already been more than two hours since he began training. His body getting tried. Nevertheless, he gritted his teeth and brandished sword again and again.

For the past half year, he tirelessly practices his sword skill every day didn't slack off even one day. He could already skillfully use a sword as part of his body from constants training and fighting with others in the club.

After finishing sword practice today, he prepares to head back to rest, suddenly a person walking into a club room equipped with protective gears in a hand has carried a wooden sword.

"Fight!"

That person standing before him and showing intent to have sparring. He knew who is this person, so he doesn't evade away, he picked up protective gears wore it and turn to face his sparring partner.

They stare at each other, trying to perceive each other movement, suddenly young man close distance between two of them before slash his sword down directly at the opponent, opposite party dodged to the left lets sword barely miss not more than an inch, opposite party grab the opportunity slashing horizontally at him, the young man feel slightly danger from this sword from experience he accumulates from sparring numerous times, he knew he can't let this sword hit his body otherwise even if he doesn't injure due to protective gears he still badly hurt, so he changed posture from slash downward to defensive stance.

The sound of wooden sword clattered constantly echo in the room many time in a minute show how intense of the fight.

The young man sensed sound of air being cut, each movement of young man's opponent transmitted to his brain for deducting path of the sword, next action of his enemy, but it can only allow him to remain passive defence due to how agile of the opposite party.

After sparring for more than ten minutes both of them stop at the same time.

"Thank you, Ji Qingwu." Zhang Yong said while taking off protective gears.

"Um." The opponent of him is one of the main characters in the novel, fencing expert that appeared at the beginning of the plot, also she is very beautiful and has a great figure.

At first, when he came in contacted with way of sword, he met her who was also new member of this fencing club. In the beginning, they didn't interact with each other but after she saw him training so hard, she began to give him a pointer on the occasion, this is also one of reason why he who just practice for half years progress so fast until he can hold his ground against her albeit be disadvantage side.

"You already got all basic sword movements, now you only need to polish it further." Ji Qingwu said with her flowing voice.

"It's because of your guidance. I need to thank you again." Zhang Yong replied with slightly grasp for breath, he just finished training and fight with Ji Qingwu, it's not strange that he would be tiring.

Zhang Yong asked for advice from Ji Qingwu and the chat quite a bit, in the past half years he not only practice in swordsmanship, he also go to shooting range after the day, now his skill is pretty decent in range 50 meters he can shoot in the target 8 out of 10, and in range 100 meters he can only get in the target 5 out of 10 rounds.

He is also registered training mixed martial art in the weekend, as for study in university, he suspends it for a year, he gave pretext that he still feels bad for departure of his parent. Actually, he doesn't have time just training all these skills already take most of his time.

When Zhang Yong returns to his apartment it almost 9 pm, he threw his exhaust body down on top of the couch.

Has this been other person, that person would have already surrendered long time ago, but because he knows with his training he will have a chance of surviving the apocalypse, maybe due to this mindset that gives him swift progress in learning those combat skills.

While thinking about his training, he also thought about the protagonist of the novel 'Yue Zhong', this guy just normal university student didn't practice any form of combat before apocalypse, the reasons 'Yue Zhong' manage to gain foothold in the apocalypse because he is among the first human that manages to kill the zombie and his series of fortunate encounters.

Another three month past by his skill in fencing, shooting, and mix martial art has gone up a notch, now he can spar with Ji Qingwu in even match, he relied on his superior strength and fast reflex to fight her agile body and flowing sword movement.

In part of shooting he doesn't have any problem with 50 meters range, he can even hit bull eye if he gives enough time, for 100 meters it comes along as well he can hit 7 out of 10 which is not bad.

As for his training in mix martial art, he also does quite well, he know how to exert right amount of force in each punch and kick, as well as dodging and positioning when fighting.

Today is New Year's party of Yun Hua University, many people come here to join the party. Zhang Yong also comes as well because in the original story this day, Ji Qingwu will show sword dance, and he wants to see with his own eyes.

Zhang Yong in his casual cloth attract some attention of woman around him, with his handsome face, shoulder length black hair, lean body from all of his training, calm temperament, all of this make he look extremely good in the eyes of opposite sex.

'Who is that person?' Many women has this question in their mind, some bolder woman even points finger at him.

'Should I try to greet him?' Some woman began to walk closer to him, when Zhang Yong saw this he begin to have a headache, it's not like he doesn't interest in women or fear the woman, it just he doesn't want to have a relationship with anyone because they will most likely die at the time of apocalypse.

"Zhang Yong, you here as well" Chen Yao surprising voice called him, even though she lives at girl dormitory most of the time, nevertheless they are still neighbour, so they often meet each other, they relationship can be called a friend.

"Chen Yao, help me!" Zhang Yong whisper to her with distress look, earn a chuckle from the beauty. She doesn't understand this man, if this is another person that person would probably joy for having woman attention, maybe this is also why she feels comfortable around him, another man would try to flirt with her due to her appearance and status.

"Come with me then." Chen Yao invites him to sit with her group.

"Who is this, Yao Yao?" One of Chen Yao's friends asked her, eyes look at Zhang Yong and Chen Yao as if to find something from both of them.

"It's not what you think, we're just friend." Chen Yao who saw the look of her friend hurry said.

"Seem like someone is guilty" Another person teasing. Chen Yao knew that she can't win with reasoning decide to shot an angry look at Zhang Yong as if to say 'because of you, my friends are misunderstanding, you will have to clear this mess.'

"I'm a friend of hers, I get to knew her because we are next door neighbour."

Zhang Yong replied, but he soon knew he made a mistake when the woman heard that he lives close to Chen Yao, there teasing increase.

He then shifts his focus back to the stage that various show is going on. Finally arrive at Ji Qingwu sword dance.

Ji Qingwu movement was full of charm that captures everyone in this party, her graceful figure and beautiful face improve this show to another level, although he sparring with her almost every day, this is the first time he saw her so charming.

After Ji Qingwu finished her show, people applaud loudly throughout the party, he is also one of them.

Another reason why he came to celebrate this New Year's event because this was the last New Year, and next time will not have this peaceful New Year's party anymore.
