Bab 159: 109: The Empress's Reward

Su Xinyi returned to the mansion with Zhan Qiao and Cao Qing, going straight to the back courtyard to change clothes and wash up. Her clothes were soaked through, and despite it being early summer, it was still a bit chilly.

Zhan Qiao and Cao Qing lived in the front courtyard's guesthouse. This was arranged by the Old Master so that they could easily follow Sixth Missy when she went out.

Just after they finished washing up and were about to sleep, they were summoned by the Old Master's servant boy.

The two entered the Crane Hall and saw the Old Master sitting in his armchair. They hurried forward to pay their respects. "Greetings, Old Master."

The Old Master opened his eyes and looked at the two. "You're back so soon? Weren't you supposed to watch over Sixth Missy and keep an eye on the salt merchant's private warehouse?"

Zhan Qiao and Cao Qing exchanged a glance before the latter replied, "Old Master, we seized a group of people making a delivery tonight."
