"My father always finds a way to look after me, even from so far away... sending you to me in this way, how can I ever thank him enough?" Neveah murmured, her heart warmed at the sight.
"He is your father, all he does is in his love for you. He needs no thanks and he would not want you to harbor such a thought, there are no debts amongst family." Jian replied with a shake of his head.
Neveah lifted a hand to the pendant on Jian's neck, a small smile on her lips.
"This must have been my mother's... this is the seal of the winter domain." Neveah muttered quietly, grazing a thumb over the pendant.
"My father...is well?" Neveah asked warily, still tracing the sides of the pendant.
Jian nodded, a reassuring smile on his lips.
"He seems to hate me more now, and may absolutely detest me by the time we make our return." Jian added.
Neveah laughed quietly, releasing a breath she had not even realized she was holding.
