I stared into Ywain's eyes. His eyes were hard and narrowed. The blood streaming out of his eyes clouded his visage, only adding to the intensity of his gaze.
The illusion surrounding him fell. My mouth fell wide open as Zephirin's face came into focus. I could vaguely hear the taunts from the old one.
My mind raced back to the garden, the weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and the strange feeling I've had towards Ywain lately. It all began to make perfect sense.
My eyes darted over to Zephirin in the other corner of the room. His mask fell off and Ywain's face appeared. He sneered. Ywain's grin widened as he locked me in. "I thought your feelings for Zephirin were true. How could you not tell us apart, huh? "
"None who choose the path of revenge emerge with shoulders light of sin, Laith, " the old one enlightened me.
