Bab 112: Kidnapped (3)

Lucas inhaled sharply when he read the message and the shackles in his hand dropped to the ground, making Vinay and Tavon halt their conversation. It was the same number that had texted him when Imani first came to Wolfborn. He read the message again and a cold wave embalmed him as the hairs rose on the back of his neck while his mouth ran dry.

"Lucas," Vinay called out when he realized that something was wrong and Lucas quickly dialled Imani's number, pressing his hand to his forehead as he turned around. "Is everything alright?"

He didn't respond as he waited, desperately hoping Imani would answer the call, and Vinay moved closer to him while Tavon. "Pick up the phone Imani," he muttered under his breath, ushering his eyes shut, as he unconsciously began to tap his foot and Vinay furrowed his brows, wondering if something had happened to Imani.
