Hotel

Is Lizzie my girlfriend now? The thought kept running through Emmy's mind as she lay there in bed. The empty taco wrappers are strewn all across the end of it. Lizzie's cheesecake was long but gone, but hers still sat there between her legs. She ate over half of it, figuring it was time to put it in the mini fridge. Thank god she's not sleeping on me anymore. Emmy slid out of bed, with Lizzie unaware of it at all. The moment the carpet met her feet, a sudden wave of cold washed over her. "Why is it so cold in here?" she had already reached the thermostat.

It read: 70 Degrees Ferenheit. "The hell?" The cold was getting a bit worse now; a chill ran down her back. She figured she'd run a bath so as quiet as Emmy could muster, she scurried off to the bathroom. The door clicked louder than usual; she cursed under her breath. Thankfully, the sounds of Lizzie's slight snoring still went off in the other room. Before she knew it, the hot water was running and she was sliding into the warm liquid. It felt nice at first. All of her sensitive spots were hit just the right way. She was using some of the small soaps that every room gets, figuring she'd wash herself up a bit.

As she ran the lather down her legs, she felt goosebumps rising up them. The chill from the other room had entered this one now, and it was coming on fast. She saw a breath of air escaping her, as if she were outside on a freezing Winter morning. The waters around her had already run frigid, and she could see a bit of frost running across the surface. She shivered hard, hugging herself as tight as she could muster. I should probably go get a towel on, before I freeze to death. She thought to herself. The tiled floors were so unforgiving as they seared against her warm flesh.

She winced a bit, jumping over to the small carpet in front of the tub. Curiosity got the best of her, even though she didn't want to see what her feet looked like. The entire bottom had crystallized water all over it. Parts of her skin had cracked where the wet skin met the liquid nitrogen like floor. The blood had already frozen underneath that thin layer of ice. Emmy shivered even harder now; her body was trying as much as it could to warm her, but it was failing. The rapid dropping temperatures were beginning to best her, forcing her to huddle in a corner.

Just then the door knob began to jiggle vigorously. Her heart jumped nearly up her throat, as she kept shuddering and rocking back and forth. "Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. Please don't…" The door lock clicked. She couldn't stop the gasp that escaped her lips shortly afterward. A loud ringing ran through her brain. It was a searing, high pitched ring that seemed endless. Then, the door opened, creaking from all the cold in that room. There was nothing in the doorway, not even a shadow or anything. The only thing that indicated someone stood there, was a rapid hushed voice.

Emmy recognized it, though she knew not of where she remembered it. Her heart was slowing down; she could practically feel all her vital signs beginning to follow suit. The voice had gotten closer, with that frost began to rise up the mirror. "Are you there?" The voice was unmistakably clear now. Emmy felt her ears perk up; it was the voice of Eli. It was the voice of her sister. "Eli?" she called out. A series of low breathing sounded just a few inches from her face. Then, there she was. Though Emmy knew her twin sister like the back of her hand, this version of her was so much different. Her face looked sunken in, and her skin was pale white.

It was even paler than usual and her hair was completely drenched in water. She appeared in full color now, though a slight white aura surrounded her body. "Where've you been Eli?" Emmy wanted to touch her sister's face, but knew she'd just go right through it. The sorrow Emmy felt was like no other sadness she ever endured before. All of her energy was zapped due to the freezing temperature. A slender, white hand appeared before her eyes, and then a sort of chillier sensation formed on her chin. Eli lifted her chin, so they were face to face. "Wipe your tears sister. You know I was murdered and it took all this time for me to build my strength to visit you."

Emmy could sense the depression pouring off her deceased twin, and it just magnified her own sadness. "I'm sorry for the change in temperature, but I cannot fight it. I was drowned to death by Daryl Xaveria's protégé and nephew, Greg Xaveria. He…" Eli cut off, looking away, towards the opposite wall. Emmy wanted nothing more than for this to end, but she did what she knew she had to.

With a slight sob, she shrugged off the cold and asked the question. "W-Where were you murdered?" Eli wouldn't answer. I can't say that I blame her though. I mean, look at the state she's in. Emmy looked her sister over, noticing the ripped section of her skirt in the back. Her fishnet leggings had been torn all up the sides and she was only in a bra. Her belly button had still been pierced, though it was slightly bloated. "What's up with your stomach?" Why the fuck would I ask that?! Emmy immediately tried to take it back, but the question was already out there.

"I was pregnant when I died sis," Eli stated. Emmy nearly jumped out of her skin. The smooth granite surface of the sink met her hands as she clenched tightly onto it. It was at this point that she realized she had become numb to the cold around her. "What do you mean? Who were you with before you died?" She had to know. She had to know who her sister's mystery boyfriend was. She saw Eli rubbing her shoulders, as she continued to stare off towards the opposite wall. Her hips looked a lot wider than usual, and she had a bit of chubbiness to her thighs and her breasts seemed fuller.

"How far along were you El?" She reached out to her sister; the coolness of her shoulders nearly shocked her like a zap of electricity. That was when she saw just how bloated Eli's belly was. It stuck out over a five inches. "Jesus… What were you, like over one month along?" Emmy asked. Her sister finally turned her head back towards her, showing off the darkness of her eyes. Misty tears were running down her face and she caught a bit of her sister's lip trembling. "Oh god… Oh my god. Y-You were, weren't you?"

Eli nodded in return. "I was four months, one week to be exact… And; And it was Greg's! He and I met a year ago, during our freshman year of college. We were both going for the film industry and… Well, let me take you back to that night I died." Emmy immediately felt her entire body shake all in one giant spasm. Her sister's hand was flowing through her ear; a wave of chilliness began to wrap around her brain. She felt her eyes roll up and everything disappeared. The only thing that was left had been Eli's voice, as she muttered random incoherent phrases.

Just then the darkness dissipated, and she was standing in a college dorm room. She was unnoticed, and her sister stepped away revealing all of the people in that room. Lizzie was actually there, with Corey at the time and she was laughing away. Though the man she loved at the time wasn't laughing with her, he was staring at Eli's ass. Emmy could feel her stomach boiling at the way he treated that amazing woman. Lizzie was even wearing revealing clothes to show off her thighs and breasts. Her shorts were hugging her ass perfectly and every time she'd bend over, her breasts would fight to escape her open jacket.

If it weren't for the lust that coursed throughout her body, Emmy would've tried to destroy that man before her. "Don't pay attention to those two please. Look at me, over there by the door. You see that lanky lookin guy with long greasy brown hair? The one with the big beaked nose and the thin face?" Emmy nodded to her sister's question. The man that was pointed out to her had been wearing a tight, muscle shirt and torn up jeans.

His hands were huge, and he towered over her sister easily. There was a look of shock written in his face. Eli was smiling, holding her belly after taking off her baggy shirt. She had been wearing the same outfit that Emmy recognized from before. The skin tight skirt, the fishnet stockings and the tight belly shirt that showed off her pregnancy perfectly. "What do you mean it's mine? You said you were on the fucking pill." Greg's voice was raspy, and had a New York accent to it. He brushed the hair from his face, exposing the anger behind it.

"I was on the pill, Greg, but it must have been old or something. I-I thought you were using a condom at least… Weren't you?" Emmy heard her sister sob a bit to her right, cathing her attention. The girl she was raised with her entire life, the girl who never showed sadness was breaking down before her. Emmy's heart sank, which forced her to hug her sister, despite the weird electrical feeling she received from it. "D-Don't pay attention to me here. J-Just look over th-there." Just then, she heard Greg's sly voice beginning to whisper, immediately hooking her.

The man had his arm around her sister's neck and he kept muttering something in her ear. "Can we get closer?" Eli nodded in return, so they made their way silently past all those around them. "…come over to my truck? We can go and celebrate, you know? Have a little fun before the finals start. What do you say?" Her sister nodded in return and the two of them began exiting the dorm room. Emmy and her spiritual sister followed them down the hall, down the stairs and out into the bitter cold of a late Winter night. "It's November by the way," Spirit Eli stated.

They kept following Greg and past Eli down the hill, by the TC3 gymnasium and out to the far parking lot. "How far along are you again?" Greg asked her. The two of them were face to face. Emmy felt Eli's ghostly hand tightening on her shoulder. Emmy didn't know why at the moment, but suddenly found out. There was an altercation going on ahead. "What're you doing? St-Stop it Greg!" The man was forcing her sister's hands behind her back, and had been fishing behind the back of his seat in the cab. He pulled out a shot, and stuck it deep into past eli's neck.

"No… N-No…" Past Eli was whimpering a bit, grasping her belly as she fell to her knees. Greg threw her into the back of the truck like a sack of garbage, and started peeling out of the parking lot. "Where're they going?!" Emmy yelled. As she looked for Eli's spirit, she realized that she was no longer in the parking lot. Instead, she was in the middle of a somewhat large pond. It was surrounded by a thick forest and had been filled to the brim with cricket songs and hooting owls. "Look at the floor, Em." She did as she was ordered, peering down at what looked like the floor of a boat.

Her sister's body had been bound and gagged. She was writhing all over as Greg was whistling to himself. He had been rummaging in a tool box, removing a clean razor, with which he used to begin cutting the back of her sister's skirt. With three swiping motions, and muffled screams from Eli's past self, Greg held up a bloody piece of cloth. He smelled it deeply, smiling and sighing afterwards. "This little girl said don't hurt me so. I told her that I won't, it's just a boat," Greg sang. He stroked Eli's hair behind her ear, running a long, grimy tongue up her cheek.

"I'll tie a cinder block to your feet. Watch you plummet; yes, sink, sink, sink." He hoisted Eli up onto the edge of the boat. She screamed with that gag shoved deep into her mouth. "Bye bye girl, I loved thee so. But a father I won't be; nope, no, no, no." With that, he pushed her out and lobbed the cinder block over after her. Emmy ran to the edge of the boat, trying to grab her past sister's arm. "Eli! No… ELLLIIIII!" Her sister was shaking, jerking her arms everywhere and began to sink out of sight. Within minutes, the bubbles stopped surfacing and the boat began to drive away.

Moments later, the entirety of that pond had disappeared. They were back in the bathroom. Steam had been rising up out of the water, Emmy could see feel the warmth against her skin. Though this time, Eli was standing there gazing at her. "You've seen what happened to me. I'm no longer pregnant of course and my baby boy had went to Paradise. I know that you've had grandmother's gift our entire lives, even when we were only five years old. I know you can help me finally rest in peace so that I can see my son and be with him forever. Please help me sis."

Emmy slid out of the waters, wrapping a nice warm robe around her, just as Lizzie entered the bathroom. She stopped, gazing at her and then over to her sister, then back to her. "Who's this?" she asked. "You can see her?" Emmy replied. "Just vaguely, but yes." "I've made it so you both can see me, though I know you already can sis. It's harder for others to see us spirits, so I am using all of my energy to make sure I'm somewhat visible to the untrained eye. It's zapping me a lot, but it's worth it. Will you help me then?" Emmy locked eyes with her sister and nodded almost immediately.

Usually she wished not to tap into the spiritual world, but there were times in which she was glad she could. "So this is the famous sister you told me all about." She watched the girl she loved so much stepping forward, with a hand outstretched. You're not gonna be able to touch her… Oh wow! Her sister and her lover both shook hands, and there was a mutual respect between the two. "Yes, I'm Eli Yates. I'm trying to get my sister here to agree to help me but…" "Of course I'm gonna help you!" Emmy didn't mean to interrupt, but an unkonwn energy shot throughout her. "Well then…" Eli started. Emmy felt that same cold grasp on her shoulder, and saw Lizzie shudder as she was touched. With that, they made their way out of the hotel, towards what was Eli Yates' resting place.
