Amara grips my hand tightly as we walk up the stairs. I can tell that she’s nervous. “Don’t worry, beauty queen. They’ll love you. Rowan will probably hit on you, and you know Carrick and Mikhail. I swear they went off to college, but they spend more time here than they do at school. I guess it’s the perk of living nearby. Plus, it can’t be worse than your mom.” I say jokingly.

She glares at that comment, which amuses me.

“Shut up.” She mutters with a heated glare. It looks like my kitten has claws. She looks so sweet, wearing her hair up in a messy bun. She’s wearing a long white t-shirt that falls from her shoulder and cut-off jeans with red combat boots.

I laugh when I think of the glare she shot me when I told her to change in front of me this morning. She narrowed her eyes and closed the bathroom door on my face in response. It was a little disappointing, but also funny.
