While the younger generation of medical ninjas embraced the new approach, some of the older, more traditional medics couldn't accept it. In their view, a medical ninja's role was clear and set—support and heal, not fight. To them, Tsunade was an outlier, a rare talent who could handle both medical and combat roles with ease. But how many could replicate her abilities?
"Tsunade, I don't think this is appropriate," Kamehara Cangtian, one of Konoha Hospital's vice presidents, spoke up. "When a medical ninja begins to train as a combat ninja, they risk losing their restraint and sense of responsibility. They may even forget their primary purpose."
"Vice President Cangtian, you're welcome to abstain from participating," Reiki said, stepping forward. "You're free to continue on the old path if you wish, especially since you no longer have to go to the front lines. But we're in a different era, and we're ready to try something new."
"Yes, Lord Vice President," a younger medic chimed in. "I want to train to be a combat medical ninja like Lady Tsunade!"
"Me too! With my control over chakra and body, I'm sure I can handle it," another added.
The younger medical ninjas, many of whom had long felt stifled by the rigid rules of their elders, eagerly voiced their support. In their minds, the traditional approach was outdated, a barrier that kept them from advancing. Reiki's words had given them hope for a new path.
Cangtian was taken aback by their enthusiasm. He had only voiced what he thought was a reasonable concern, never expecting such a response.
Tsunade stepped in. "This special training is entirely voluntary," she said, her voice calm but commanding. "If you don't want to join, focus on your duties here in the hospital. But for those willing, I'll be leading the training, and you can register in my office."
With that, Tsunade and Reiki left the room.
Reiki couldn't help but admire Tsunade's charisma and influence. Thanks to her reputation and authority, the older medics couldn't openly oppose her. It was why Reiki had insisted she lead the charge—without her, the entire plan would have been shut down by the hospital's traditionalists.

Meanwhile, some of the elder medical ninjas gathered to discuss their discontent.
"Vice President Cangtian, shouldn't we inform Hokage-sama about this?" one suggested. "Tsunade's approach is too reckless."
"It's no use," Cangtian sighed. "Even if Lord Hokage knew, he wouldn't stop Tsunade. She knows exactly what she's doing."
The elder medics grumbled but knew Cangtian was right. Tsunade's lineage, skills, and accomplishments gave her a certain level of freedom.

In the Hokage's office…
"Special training for medical ninjas?" Sarutobi Hiruzen murmured, reading the report. "It seems Tsunade has her own ideas." Recently, Konoha had been dealing with a series of issues, and now this unexpected shift was yet another complication.
"Hokage-sama, the senior medical staff at the hospital are requesting your intervention," an ANBU operative relayed.
"It's just a special training initiative. Let her go ahead with it," Hiruzen replied, setting the report aside. "What's the situation with Danzo?"
"The Root organization has been quiet, and Lord Orochimaru has mostly stayed within his lab," the ANBU operative reported. "Many of the ninjas have been sent on missions, but there's been no unusual activity from other clans either."
"Very well," Hiruzen said, resuming his paperwork. In his mind, Tsunade's special training was nothing more than an ambitious project. If it failed, she would simply move on.
---
Soon, word of Konoha's new medical ninja training spread to other villages, sparking mixed reactions.
**Sunagakure**: "Training medical ninjas for combat? Is Konoha out of fighting ninjas?"
**Kumogakure**: "What is Konoha planning, sending medics to the front? Will they heal their enemies too?"
**Iwagakure**: "Sounds like something Konoha would do. They've never had the manpower we have."
**Kirigakure**: "It's suspicious. Konoha may be planning a surprise attack."
---
Back at the hospital, training had already begun, and Tsunade's voice could be heard echoing across the grounds.
"Reiki wins again! Can't you all learn from him? He's a medical ninja, a chunin, and barely over eight years old! And here you are, lagging behind!" Tsunade barked.
The younger medical ninjas were doing their best to keep up, but Tsunade's high standards left no room for laziness.
Under Tsunade's strict guidance, the young medics pushed themselves hard, eager to prove that they were more than just support—they were ninjas, and they would earn their place in Konoha's defense.
